Let Me Translate That For You…
Genesis 3:1 “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”
Ever heard… “a better translation says”? The very first person to offer a better translation of God’s word was Satan talking to Eve… just three chapters into the Bible! And he basically ends up telling her (and her buying it!) that THIS is what God really says and means “let me translate that for you”.
!!! But God had already clearly told Adam and Eve that they could eat from any and every good tree they wanted to, as much as they wanted to, whenever they wanted to… except one tree… a tree that they could only lose by eating. And lose we all did.
Satan deceived Eve about God’s word, eventually causing disobedience to God’s word… all while legitimizing his lies in her head. She rationalized it out… but she got it wrong. And the fall of man, the “Genesis” of sin, and all the evil that we see and experience in the world today originates from Satanic attack on God’s word.
Genesis 3 tells us how Satan works. “That old serpent” has not changed a bit. We learn that he’s subtle and he will twist the meaning by tweaking God’s word, giving us an alternate better version we can believe in… and he causes that by firstly changing our mind to God’s word.
Before people ever lose God’s word, they are first lost to God’s word.
The battle over “yea hath God said?” is as old as time itself, but as present more as ever today. It’s been devastating and revealing in modern Christianity just how asleep we are to how Satan works when we need not be “for we are not ignorant of his devices”… “But while men slept, the enemy came…”
It’s a big issue because God’s word is as fundamental as it gets to faith. And people have many different attitudes and approaches to this issue… but fact remains, in tempting Eve to sin, Satan attacked God’s word in her mind, and in tempting Jesus to sin, he (tried) to attack God’s word in his mind.
Satan will operate on God’s word in your head and heart. All Satan needs to do is get into your thinking and legitimize his lies in your head and he’ll have you. He’ll gobble up God’s word your whole life to keep it from ever sinking in and saving you… and if he can corrupt your attitude to God’s word, like for instance “it’s just the word of man!”… you’ll be under his power and dominion in your whole life… whether you know it or not.
Just talk to almost anyone and then you’ll see just how successful Satan has been when it comes to attitude to God’s word! Just ask someone you know what they think of the Bible! And even those who have a good profession… often hiding barely under the surface is all the doubt that Satan has sown. It’s very sad.
Satan’s mastery is in that he’s anything but obvious, the tiny differences and deft touches can be almost undetectable… he’s smarter than any and all of us put together. He’s so sneaky he can have you serving him while you sincerely thinking you’re serving God!
The thing is, even if you don’t know the power and authority of God’s word yourself… he still does! Even as a Christian, he knows the key to conquering your life is in this issue, because “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
But before we can ever get straight on this issue, we first have to get honest about it being an issue, and our willingness to act based on the truth of the issue. Paul himself wrote “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God”… and yes God is greater, because Satan cannot corrupt incorruptible seed, so we still have God’s word today…
… but he sure can twist your mind in his lies! And he sure will offer you an alternate version of God’s word as he did Eve! … and there are many of those! Showing just how active he is in our society. When you hear “a better translation, a more accurate rendering… no this is what God REALLY meant.” The Bible tells you where that talk is really coming from.
None of us are above this! If Jesus had to rebuke Peter, his chosen apostle and leader in the early church, by saying “Get thee behind me, Satan”…. don’t believe anyone is exempt from Satan sifting us as wheat as he wanted to Peter “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”
You want strength as a Christian? We should all. But we cannot get it without getting strong in God’s word “I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.”
Yes… this is a big battleground. Many don’t want any part of this battle! “The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.” All the “battle” and “warfare” terminology in Christianity is being removed because we want to have a truce with Satan… not realizing the true situation or the stakes. This a war that reaches up to heaven in Revelation 12, just make sure you’re on the right side of this conflict!
Stick to the King James Bible! don’t fall for Satan’s tricks. Being under his power in your life is not the place to be! The fall of man and everything bad in this world today is a direct result of the first humans, whom we all come from, being deceived about God’s word. That’s how critical this issue is. And even if many others are and continue to be so… don’t let him deceive you about God’s word any more!

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 33 y/o Bible Blogger from Adelaide, South Australia. God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to share it with others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. And it’s Jesus Christ’s faith far more than my own! Because he is faithful. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and by God’s grace I anchor my soul to it. My destination is heaven. As they say, this world is not my home, I’m just a passin’ through… although most of the time I feel more like I’m hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports, I currently work on an orchard and one of my main hobbies/interests is growing vegetables. I love writing. I’m always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment on my blog or through email! My blog is inspired by Isaiah 2, and Isaiah’s vision of the last days when all nations will flow unto the Lord’s house, in a future time where everyone will love to hear God’s word and walk in light of Lord. And it is my hope that my blog will “strengthen the brethren” and “feed my sheep” as Jesus told Peter. Whether you visit once or regularly, I hope my blog is of some benefit to you on your journey of life! It’s a long journey, but with Christ you will make it to the other side. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
I tell you, I don’t know how I found your blog but I thank God for your boldness and truth!! Your words and conviction are so refreshing to me in a world of compromise and vanity. You hear people say, “oh, it says it much better in the Passion.” Although, it does sound great, taking away and/or adding to the word is definitely considered a “high crime” in the sight of the Lord. Better put… “God shall take away his part out of the the book of life…” May the Lord bless you and keep you in these last days and may all of the ambassadors in bonds become bold in their proclamation of truth of God’s word!!!
