Why KJV?

Psalm 12:6 – The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Psalm 12:7 – Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Jeremiah 23:29 – Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

What Bible to use? Why the KJV? This is a big topic, a contentious issue, but it needn’t be, it is very simple, we have a God that makes things simple. The issue is critically important though. 1 Peter 1:23 – Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. In order to hit every angle, it will take a bit of time to cover all the bases. Please note at the outset, I am not saying that only people who use the Authorized King James Bible are saved. God can save anyone anyhow, he knows how to save his own. That is his business. Your salvation is between you and God. You will stand before God, you will give account to him yourself. If you are truly saved though, you will have a hunger for God’s word, you will want to know the truth, you will come to the truth. If you are truly saved, you will hear the voice of your shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will guide you. He will lead you.

Firstly, it is necessary to see that it is Satan’s work to corrupt, pervert, manipulate, twist, wrest the words of God In Genesis 3, Satan deceived Eve through casting doubt on the authority and reliability of the words of God. When Satan tempted Jesus, he used Scripture to do so. Satan endlessly attacks God’s Word. This is because God’s Word is the authority and the basis for faith, and successfully casting doubt, adding and taking away from the words of God is the main way Satan can defeat us. Read 1 Kings 13.

I am not going to do any side by side comparisons, there are plenty of tools to do your own digging if you really want to find out. If you want to know truth, you will find it, if you do not find it, it’s because you were not truly seeking to begin with.God makes it easy for us to find and know the truth. It is important to get the issue of what Bible sorted. God’s Word is the authority and it is not subject to man. Man wants to make God’s words amenable to him, to reduce the uneasiness when the Spirit of God rebukes, corrects, and convicts us. Man wants to excuse sin, adding and taking away helps man to excuse his sin. It is a deadly sin to add and take away from God’s Word. Revelation 22:19 – And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Deuteronomy 4:2 – Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Any Bible that detracts from the Lord Jesus Christ is not guided by the Holy Spirit, but rather by the spirit of antichrist. The Bible tells us to try the spirits… he that is spiritual judgeth all things. We can know whether we have the real, true Word of God or not. New Bibles, aka all Bibles apart from the Authorized King James Version, cast doubt and detract from the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the work of antichrist – 1 John 2. Compare verses and see for yourself. Start at 1 John 5:7 KJV vs others.

The legacy of the Authorized KJV is faith and the demonstration of the power and working of God. God has magnified his Word above his name, his words are pure, his words are preserved. The legacy of other bibles is doubt and endless ambiguity and interpretations.

The Bible says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. From that verse, we can see that the Word of God and faith are inseperable. 1 John 5:7 leaves us in no doubt that Jesus is God – these three are one. Taking this verse away removes that faith. Our faith is based on his Word, take away the words, take away our faith. As someone standing on the KJV, I can go to 1 John 5:7 and show that the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost are one. Someone with an ESV for example, cannot. The mark of people who use new Bibles is doubt. They are in confusion, the people in the days of the tower of Babel were in confusion. Many different voices, saying different things, scattering the people. New Bibles bring confusion, confusion is a sign of judgement, as at the tower of Babel. Proverbs says that the strange woman’s ways are moveable. The new Bibles are moveable, they are subject to change, revision, editing, adding and taking away. God’s word is the authority over us, we are not the authority over his word. How arrogant are you? Can you say better and more clearly than what God says? Can you communicate yourself better than God? So God doesn’t know what he’s talking about, we’ve got to help him? I will never say, this word could be better rendered as … how audacious can you be? Does God need your help to express himself? The new Bibles come from Mystery Babylon, not New Jerusalem.

Things that are different are not the same. All the different versions do not harmonize, they disagree and contradict. They excuse sin, they cast doubt, they launch the reader into a sea of relativity, now able to be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. Reeds shaken with the wind. If the trumpet gives an uncertain sound who shall prepare himself to the battle? There is one God. There is one truth. There is one word. One Lord. One Master. One gospel. One salvation. One hope. One king. One Spirit.

Another proof lies in the origin. Many people become lost discussing the difficulties and impossibilities of successfully translating from language to language while retaining the same information, but the real issue is… What is being translated? Even so… if God created language, he knows how to translate his words. He will translate us from earth to heaven. If he cannot translate his words, how can we believe anything else? If he cannot translate his words, how can he translate us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light? How big is our God?

Simply put, there are two origins of Bibles, they either come from Antioch, Syria or Alexandria, Egypt. One gives life, one brings death. One is moving water, the other is stagnant. This is what happens when you forsake the fountain of living waters, and hew out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Jesus says, Fill the waterpots to the brim. God’s words fill our waterpots, Satan’s words are empty. Wells without water, clouds without water. Everytime Alexandria is mentioned in the Bible it is connected with doubt, confusion, disputation and something that will carry a Christian to his death (Paul). Egypt is a type of the world, Pharaoh, a type of Satan, is the ruler of Egypt. Pharaoh doesn’t let the children go. Satan doesn’t open the door of his prisoners. We cannot leave Egypt with an Egyptian Bible. Compare this to Antioch, which is where the first Christians were called. Judge for yourself… and also ask… do I really want to know the truth? If you don’t want to know, you are sunk before you start.

Another proof is that the King James Bible is the only Bible authorized by a king. The Bible says, Where the word of a king is, there is power. The kings heart is in the Lord’s hand. God moved King Cyrus, God moved Nebuchadnezzar, God moved Darius, God moved David. The Bible says the powers that be are ordained of God. God uses authority. God works through authority, not around authority. God is not the author of confusion.

There is much more than could be said, and I will continue to add to this whenever possible. I could write more and more, but ultimately it’s up to you. It’s your decision. It’s not about trying to convince you. I am not trying to persuade you. It’s about providing you with information if you are interested, which I am happy to do. If you mind is made up, if you don’t want to know, whatever the state of your heart, well then that’s up to you. You will stand before God yourself, I am standing before God for myself, not for you. The bottom line is, my faith is built by my KJV Bible. I read it and believe it. My KJV exalts the Lord Jesus Christ. It builds my faith. It builds it greatly. I have 100% unshakeable confidence that I am reading the pure, inspired, preserved words of God. I submit to the word, the word does not submit to me. Can you say the same thing? A Bible that is casting doubt, a Bible that is not dealing in absolutes, a Bible that detracts in any way from the Lord Jesus Christ, a Bible that has ‘grey’ areas… is not building your faith is it? And it is by faith that we are saved. We live by faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. So we see that what Bible you choose is actually a very serious issue. Get it settled in your heart today.

  1. This is the Bible that inspired the revivals here in Ireland and in the British Isles and this is the Bible that pioneering missionaries armed themselves with as they travelled into unknown territory, to spread the Good News of salvation all those years ago… but sadly it is being discarded by many today. Thank you for your post.

    1. My pleasure, thanks very much and God bless you! Even in these darkening days, all around the world, God still has and knows them that love him! He is way ahead of all of this! Romans 11:4 – But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

  2. Hello, I am Italian and love the KJV. It may sound strange, but I understand the KJV very well despite the detractors (sometime with an help from an online dictionary or companion Bible, but not often). I want only to make an observation – better, a question – on your statement:
“God works through authority, not around authority. God is not the author of confusion.”
In Italy we have now a government supported by the 60% of people, which is strongly against the immigration and authoritarian. The Italian society is extremely atheist or religionist, praising the lust of the flesh and the pride of life openly and justifying that with A) an open denial of God the Creator or B) a religion (Catholic) which pretends to justify and to give a “visa to heaven” for almost every kind of sinner. Such national majority gave the power to the actual government which is decreeing heavy laws against not-Italians. Among them there is also my wife, a Filipina, with whom I regularly joined in a wedding in the Philippines in 2015, in front of the pastors of one Baptist church there. After many troubles she is today my legal wife also for the Italian state, but not a citizen. I ask (not rethorically): do we have to submit to such government expression of the majority of the Italian nation as an expression of God’s will through the people’s will? It is a difficult task for me, as in the every day life I am surrounded by the ‘common people’ of my city (Trieste), who loves this government and hates not-Italians (like my wife) and at the same time blaspheme the name of God every five or ten words, praise fornication, exercise arrogance and pride on the neighboor etc. Does God side with such society and I am wrong and should divorce from my wife?
Thank you if you would give me an enlightening answer, because to believe is something God put under a fierce trial every day and every moment of the proper life and I can only confirm.
    God bless you.

    1. Hello Edoardo, thanks for your message. I’m not sure I entirely understand your situation so don’t know how much help I can be. But I’ll try my best? All I can give you really is God’s word. What I can say is what Peter said in Acts 5:29, which is “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.” If you have married someone, you married that person before God. Marriage is of God between one man and one woman. Read in the Bible and the Bible says what God has joined, let no man put asunder (Mark 10:9). So I can’t imagine God will put you in a situation to violate his word. Neither will he bless disobedience to his word, how can he bless sin and wrong? Living in Australia, I have no idea what Italy is like or what is going on there. Yes God does work through authority, but this is a wicked world we live in. I’m not sure you are applying this statement to your situation in the correct manner? The kingdom of a believer is not of this world, the prince of this world is the devil. If you have been saved by Jesus Christ, which I assume you are?, then you are in the kingdom of Jesus Christ, you are in this world still, but you’re not of it. Don’t forget this world hates God, this world put Jesus on the cross, Jesus’ own people cried out crucify him, crucify him. He came unto his own and his own received him not… John. God has in the past and does work through authority, such as in the hearts of kings to do his will. He is ultimately ruling, and one day Jesus will rule and reign as he finally takes the kingdom which is his. But for now Satan, although judged and defeated, is still the god of this world, and this world is his kingdom, he rules it, there are bad people, many people on his side, as I’m sure you know. There were many wicked kings whom God gave Israel for instance because of the wickedness of the people, as judgement, and these kings did evil. If you are under an evil government who wants and wants you to do things contrary to God’s word… you should obey God first and put God first. Read what Moses’ parents and the Israelite midwives did in Exodus… if the midwives obeyed Pharaoh’s evil command… then Moses would’ve been killed. Read God’s word and obey his word. You also have to rightly divide the word of God, God gives you the wisdom to understand his word and apply it to your life. God does work through authority, and he is not the author of confusion but I’m not sure the way in which I wrote this article necessarily relates to your situation in the same way if that makes sense? Anyway, hope this helps in some way, thanks very much Edoardo.

      1. I thank you very much for the reply especially for your time you spent for me. You have been very helpful to me. I had imagined a sort of explanation similar to the one you told about marriage, but I was not sure of it. What makes me to worry are governments who are elected by an angry majority of the nation, who doesn’t believe absolutely in God but uses a superficial Christian appearance in order to claim they’ve got a sort of ‘divine authorization’ to oppress minorities. Italy is the country who invented Fascism. Unbelief and religious superstition are reigning and perhaps God is going to judge this country soon. When I read the first chapter of Jeremiah I feel them perfectly applied also to many Gentile nations of today, especially my country (historical Israel is a picture of the Gentiles). Stiffnecked sinners, filled with pride, wickedness, fornication, totally devoted the lust of the flesh: “they have taught their tongues to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity”, “Shall I not visit them for these things?” (Jeremiah ch. 9).
Well, I too love the KJV, I knew that Bible years ago when I was actively posting on conspiracy forums etc. I do also some Study Bible with a wonderful US missionary family, but we never deepened the argument or the relation with the authority (I will use your suggestions for the next time we’ll meet). I want to add that I am reading also a very good book, Final Authority by Dr. William P. Grady, and this is why I love the more the KJV. I use this Bible to correct the Italian Bibles, for example the Diodati 1649.
I want add also that the earlier “Textus Receptus” Bible was the Itala Bible, translated from 120 to 157 AD (as reported by Theodor Beza). But I was asking myself, the Old Testament of the early church was a direct translation from the Hebrew text or the Septuagint version as many pretend to be the only Old Testament? (I believe the Septuagint OT a sort of fraud, a corrupted version of the Hebrew text).
