Will You Commit The Sin Unto Death?

1 John 5:16 – If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

1 John 5:17 – All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

Matthew 12:31 – Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Matthew 12:32 – And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Luke 9:52 – And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.

Luke 9:53 – And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

Luke 9:54 – And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

Luke 9:55 – But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

Luke 9:56 – For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

Hello all, back with a new blog today, and it will probably be a short one! Today we will be dealing with the sin unto death, and have you committed it, although really the question is… will you commit it? Because now is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation the Bible says. You will have committed it when you go to hell. You will have committed it when you refuse the gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit for the last time. The Holy Spirit moves upon the deep of your heart leading you to the Lord Jesus Christ… but you reject him… when will you reject him the last time? Because that is the unpardonable sin, that is the sin unto death. That can’t be forgiven. The sin that will send you to hell is the sin of unbelief, of rejection and disobedience to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no sin on earth that cannot be forgiven through the shed blood of the Son of God.  We have all sinned, we are all sinners, God knows that. The problem is not your sin as much as it is what are you going to do with it… are you going to let him take care of it? Or will you take it and it’s price to your grave and eternity with you? His blood has life, and eternal life, his blood can wash away all sin. He is the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world, which took away the sin of the world once for all. Only God can forgive sins, Jesus is God, Jesus laid down his life and took it again. He is triumphant over sin, he made an open show of it all. Truth has come to us all, do we have a love of the truth? Will we receive the truth… it comes to us all… it is not far away, the truth is right there… but you just don’t really want it do you? Its not that people don’t know truth… God has left himself with INNUMERABLE witness of himself in heaven and earth, creation glorifies him, your conscience bears witness, the Holy Spirit bears witness, Jesus has lighted every man that has come into the world. We all come from Adam. You are without excuse… there are no bystanders in hell… the righteous Judge of the earth will do what’s right.

There is an apparent contradiction in the Bible you may say… all manner of sin will be forgiven but then there’s one that can’t be forgiven!?!!?!, but there is no contradiction at all. Jesus said ALL manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men… but then Jesus said that blasphemy against the Holy Ghost would not be forgiven. What is going on here? What is the sin unto death? Why can’t this sin be forgiven? The sin unto death is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. It is all very simple… the sin unto death is the sin of not receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour. You will go to hell because you reject the Lord Jesus Christ. Your sins are paid for, but you need to receive forgiveness for them. You need to lay hold on salvation. You have responsibility, God wants you to take the cup of salvation. Salvation belongs unto the Lord. He’s provided it for us, he gives it to us freely, fully and forever. Salvation involves the working of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit moves in and on your life, he doesn’t speak of himself, what he hears he speaks, he speaks of Jesus Christ… if you reject his message, you commit blasphemy. Salvation is a work of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said ye MUST be born again. You can’t see or enter the kingdom of God without being born again of the Spirit of God. That why you don’t put salvation off, you don’t just get saved when you want, you get saved when the Holy Spirit works… when God draws you. Jesus said no man can come unto him except the Father draw him. Is the Father drawing you today? Will you reject his calling? Many are called… few are chosen. Unless God draws you, you won’t come. You have a responsibility to answer the call, many have been called, you are being called today.

All other sins can be forgiven but this one. Because if you don’t get saved you will go to hell. You cannot be forgiven if you do not receive the free gift of forgiveness that the Lord Jesus Christ offers. As Paul said to the unbelieving Jews in Acts, do you judge yourself unworthy of eternal life? Do you oppose your own self? We are our own worst enemy. Hosea 13:9 – O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help. We all destroy ourselves. Satan runs rings around us. You are not match for the roaring lion. Satan has blinded the minds of unbelievers, if the gospel is hid, it is hid from them that are lost. Jesus wants to open the door of your prison, and he will do it. He has proclaimed deliverance, he will lead captivity captive. He can open your eyes if you want, he can open your ears if you want, he can open your understanding if you want. Or would you rather be blind? Or do you prefer the bondage of the devil, just like the freed Israelites who went back to Egypt in their hearts longed for the bondage of Egypt! God will shine in the darkness of your heart. Salvation is of the Lord. What is of God cannot be opposed or undone. Once he opens the door, it is open, once he shuts the door, it is shut. Is his light welcome in your dark soul? Will you be translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God’s dear Son!? You will go to hell if you don’t get saved. Jesus paid for all sin on the cross, he took our curse upon himself, he bore the curse in his own body, he took on him the sin of the world. You can be one of his sheep today. He doesn’t lose his sheep. He is the keeper. He leads his sheep to green pastures. He guards the door. His sheep are safe being kept by the great Shepherd. All God requires you to do is believe him. Receive what he has done for you. The sin unto death is rejecting Jesus Christ… don’t reject him. He is the way, he is the truth, he is the life, he is the only way to the Father. You won’t come to God any other way. He is the only begotten Son of God. He is God in the flesh. He is the sole go between between God and man. We cannot comprehend God without Jesus Christ. He proceeded forth from God, he is God, and he has returned unto God. Blows our minds!

Once you are saved, what is your command? What do we do as Christians? John wrote that there is a sin unto death, but we are not to pray for it. We want people to get saved, we don’t want them to go to hell. If you are saved you should care about the souls of others. The disciples wanted to call down fire on a village of the Samaritans because they didn’t receive them, but Jesus rebuked them. Jesus said ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of, the Son of man is come to save life not destroy it. We are to spread the gospel, we are to tell others, we don’t want anyone to go to hell, God doesn’t want anyone to go there. God is not willing that any should perish, he is longsuffering, very longsuffering, he waits a long time. He shows mercy to those we don’t think deserve mercy. Look at the story of Jonah, Jonah was ANGRY at God because God spared Nineveh when they repented. Jonah wanted to see Nineveh destroyed!!! What are we doing? Christians with all their priorities wrong… Christians who in a heartbeat would kick all the heroes of the Bible out their church because they are holier than thou. The message is for EVERYONE, everyone is invited. Jesus sends us into the highways, into the hedges… call everyone to the supper! But here’s the warning… in the parable, both bad and good were called. Then the bad were rejected. Just like in another parable of the net, when good and bad fish were collected. The bad fish are thrown away at the end of the world, they are severed from the good fish. You may be playing religion, you may be a religious fake, you may be anything at all, but be sure that God is not mocked… he knows each individual soul, each individual heart, he looks on the inside… the Bible says make your calling and your election sure, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, MAKE SURE you are saved. You can know NOW that you are saved. God doesn’t leave us in doubt. And how can you witness to others if you are unsure of your own salvation?

There is no sin that can’t be forgiven. The Bible says the life is in the blood, and there is eternal life in the sinless shed blood of Jesus Christ. Just like in the Passover, apply the blood and the death angel will spare you. When I seed the blood, I will pass over! Even if you don’t understand it… as Nicodemus said… How can these things be? Just believe. Just do it. Apply his blood to your life, your walk, your being… his blood has power, his blood has life. His shed blood is everlasting life. The price of his innocent blood was used to purchase a useless clay field. Or so they thought. We are that useless clay field… but the useless things, you and I, is what is most precious to God. God uses useless, despised, scorned things. He does things in ways that he gets the glory, he gives us what we need not what we want, he knows how he wants to do things… he does things that are foolish and base and ridiculous to us to confound the mighty. God knows what he’s doing. He gives gifts in ways we don’t expect, he insults our own understanding, rationalizing, designs. This was money that was not worth being put in the religious elites treasury, it was the most precious price paid that Jesus paid on the cross. He died for me. He died for you. And he arose. He lives forevermore, he has the keys of hell and of death. We are the field of blood, we bear this great treasure in earthen vessels. Let his light shine in us and through us, let rivers of living water flow out from us.

There is a sin unto death. Do not put off your salvation. Not getting saved can’t be forgiven. Don’t ignore the promptings of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is working around the world gathering people from all backgrounds, walks of life, tongues. We may feel alone but we are not. Elijah felt alone, but God had seven thousand men which had not bowed the knee to Baal. God knows his own, and he is known of his own. Let go of what’s stopping you. Lay down your Isaac. Let God provide. Let God provide something BETTER for you. Whatever is stopping you from being saved, whatever is stopping you from walking with God, lay it down, and let God have it. He does exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. His ways are not our ways, his thoughts are not our thoughts. God is a big God. He is incomprehensible, inconceivable to us. No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. Just believe the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Mediator. He is the Keeper. He is the Shepherd. He is the Life Giver. He is the Light. He is the Truth. He is the Way. He is the Life. He is everything, it is all about him. This life will make you see and come to the conclusion that Job came to. Job shut his mouth, he realized he was NOTHING, he had uttered what he understood not, his own reasonings were a joke, he ABHORRED himself and repented in dust and ashes. When you begin to know anything, you understand that you know nothing at all. The Bible says that in Jesus are hid all treasures of wisdom and knowledge. It’s all about Jesus, he must increase, I must decrease. His blood paid it all. You don’t have to do anything, you don’t have to perform, you don’t have to understand… just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are unsaved, you don’t need to go to hell, if you are saved, you need to warn others not to go to hell. If you reject Jesus, you cannot be saved, there is no other name given under heaven whereby you must be saved. He that HATH the Son hath life, he that HATH NOT the Son  of God hath not life. Do you HAVE the Son? Or will you rather commit the sin unto death?

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 30 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)

  1. Thank you for this anointed teaching on the sin unto death. It brought clarity for me. I’m planning to do a blog about being an effective witness for Christ Jesus.
