Mindfulness Meditation – A Satanic Alternative To Trusting In Jesus Christ

Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

“Mindfulness” meditation has fast become a key part of the booming health and wellness industry. Because there’s lots of money to be made, and being made, in mental health issues.

Mental health issues are indisputably on the rise in Australia. Recently, the antidepressant drug “sertraline” entered into the top 10 most prescribed drugs in Australia for the first time.

Yes, the recent fear, lockdowns and mandates did not help, which created a health crisis in the name of health, but nonetheless, we are in an increasingly unhappy, unfulfilled, anxious and fearful society.

And so people turn to Jesus Christ… except no they don’t… instead in droves they turn to a self centered, pseudo secular wellness practice, such as “mindfulness meditation”, in order to train their minds in creating a mental state that they can exist in, in “the present”, in hope of achieving some sort of freedom from the infirmities of their human condition.

But no matter how much you try to liberate yourself from yourself and your issues through mental trickery… be aware that Satanic practices like this will only lead you further into the darkness you are trying to escape.

Yes, mindset is important. And the Bible speaks a lot about the mind, because it is a battleground. But mindfulness meditation teaches nonjudgmental concentration of your mind on your present experience as key to personal victory, whereas the Bible teaches personal victory through the knowledge and saving faith in the truth of Jesus Christ.

And so mindfulness meditation really boils down to little more than a poor alternative to trusting in Jesus Christ for the answers to your mental health issues, whatever they may be.

And it cannot offer a real solution to the real problems that come as a result of the condition of sin that we all share. Because if you’ve got a guilty conscience, if you’re unfulfilled and incomplete, if you’re dead in your sins, if you’re not right with God, if you’re not saved, if you’re on the road to hell… that is going to cause issues in the mind …

… which you won’t be solved by no amount of locking your mind in on your body and breathing! And all these issues in our minds and lives should lead us to Jesus Christ, not to ourselves, as if we can save ourselves, and definitely not to mind altering drugs and impotent self help practices.

The fact is, the more you focus on yourself and your experience as your truth, the more depressed you will eventually become… because humanity is depressing, this world is full of vanity and darkness, you will get old and sick and die, and the answers to life do not lie within you… they’re in Jesus Christ.

If you have mental health issues, that’s fine, we all do, or will do… but let them lead you to Jesus Christ who bore the curse of sin in his own body, and who alone is willing and has power to solve all those issues that all the pills and psychobabble never will.

Get mindful and get saved by Jesus Christ and the truth of his word, the Holy Bible, that is the solution to the raft of mental issues besetting our society.

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 33 y/o Bible Blogger from Adelaide, South Australia. God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to share it with others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. And it’s Jesus Christ’s faith far more than my own! Because he is faithful. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and by God’s grace I anchor my soul to it. My destination is heaven. As they say, this world is not my home, I’m just a passin’ through… although most of the time I feel more like I’m hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports, I currently work on an orchard and one of my main hobbies/interests is growing vegetables. I love writing. I’m always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment on my blog or through email! My blog is inspired by Isaiah 2, and Isaiah’s vision of the last days when all nations will flow unto the Lord’s house, in a future time where everyone will love to hear God’s word and walk in light of Lord. And it is my hope that my blog will “strengthen the brethren” and “feed my sheep” as Jesus told Peter. Whether you visit once or regularly, I hope my blog is of some benefit to you on your journey of life! It’s a long journey, but with Christ you will make it to the other side.
