God’s Answer To “Imagine”

“Imagine there’s no heaven, It’s easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us, only sky”

“Imagine all the people, Livin’ for today, Ah”

“Imagine there’s no countries, It isn’t hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, And no religion, too”

Recognize these lyrics?

Most people would recognize these words and where they come from, which is from one of the most influential songs of our times, a song called “Imagine”.

The power of music to influence belief, inject philosophy, impart a spirit and alter behaviour is to me, always pretty incredible.

This song is one such case, I couldn’t number the people I’ve talked to who believe in the sentiments that are that are expressed in this song.

A guy called John Lennon created this song, and so many people, like him, create their own truth from their own imagination to believe in, as if it can save themselves.

John Lennon’s gospel of “Imagine” has never saved a single soul from the hell that he told you to imagine isn’t real, and if he didn’t get saved, sadly that including his own.

But it’s amazing how music can be so successful in selling a message, and Lennon himself said that the acceptance of the message of this song lay in the fact that it was “sugar coated”.

Music has the power to bring you under the spell of its creator, and how many people are still under Lennon’s spell today?

And because Satan is behind all the ungodly music of this world, you are actually under Satan’s spell… who never wants you to find the truth that he also hid from Lennon.

Because I don’t know that much about John Lennon, but from what I’ve gathered, this is a guy who was searching for truth, but never found it… as the scripture says in 2 Timothy 3:7 “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

And so the best that this man could come up with, and the apex of his musical career, was this imagination of his.

The word “imagine” means “To form a notion or idea in the mind; to fancy.” And this is what Lennon did. He imagined. This song is an imagination. And he wants you to imagine with him.

This song was an idea formed in Lennon’s mind, shaped by his imagination, which he fancied and caused many others to fancy. But it never had foundation in reality and truth. And as such, this song can only offer a sad lie and false hope.

No matter how imaginative you are… you cannot imagine God away. There is no imagination against God that will prevail against God. Hence the Bible says in Psalm 2:1 “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?”

We should not believe in what we imagine, rather, we are meant to believe the truth of what God has said… because our own imaginations are places where evil dwells, not where truth resides.

That’s why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

Lennon gave the world a vain imagination powerless to save humanity, who’s lyrics lead to nowhere, but God gave his Son Jesus Christ who will save you from your sins today, who’s truth leads surely on to everlasting life.

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 30 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
