Daniel 4:6 – Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

Daniel 4:7 – Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

Daniel 4:8 – But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,

Daniel 4:9 – O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

I listen to the experts! Congratulations … so did Nebuchadnezzar, and look what trouble the experts gave him. Hello readers, talking about “the experts” briefly today. In 2022, we always hear “listen to the experts” and “I trust the science”. The experts are our security aren’t they… they’re more of a security to us than God. But be wary of the experts! In the book of Daniel, the mighty king Nebuchadnezzar surrounded himself with experts… and his experts conned and duped him time and time again. They weren’t nearly as expert as they said they were. They were experts in deceiving him, but not experts in being able to give him good counsel and wisdom for him to make decisions from and have peace.

Nebuchadnezzar found out these experts weren’t very “expert”. But he kept going back to them. It’s amazing how this world just keeps going back to proven liars. Nebuchadnezzar’s experts main expertise was in lying to and manipulating him… but he kept going back to them anyway. When people prove themselves to be liars, why would you ever go back to them? Jacob had the sense to leave Laban finally, surely we would have the good sense to stop listening to the voices, regardless of their credentials, who have proven that they cannot be trusted. You better pick your experts wisely for your life. In the book of Daniel, we read about a Hebrew slave boy who proved to have expertise far superior to all of Nebuchadnezzar’s experts combined.

Nebuchadnezzar learned that Daniel, and Daniel’s God, was the real expert. Daniel truly was worth listening to. Daniel proved he was able to give the king understanding and counsel in crucial matters pertaining to his kingdom. Daniel had been a young Hebrew boy when he was taken to Babylon after Jerusalem was conquered. There were many young men taken back to Babylon because Nebuchadnezzar knew he could use Judah’s brightest to further build and benefit his kingdom. It was smart what Nebuchadnezzar did strategically. Hand picked young men were brought back to Babylon for “re-education” to then be used to serve Nebuchadnezzar and benefit the realm.

Daniel and his contemporaries were to be trained how to think Babylonian, speak Babylonian, eat Babylonian, drink Babylonian. But while the re-education worked on most of the kids taken to Babylon… it did not work on Daniel and his three friends. They were never re-educated out of believing God’s word. And that’s what set them apart. These guys proved to be the real experts in Nebuchadnezzar’s realm. Right from early on, they were found to be exceptional and distinct from all the experts of Babylon. They had understanding, wisdom, and knowledge. Because God gave it to them. You honour God and get in his word, you’re far ahead of the best credentials in the world.

We have so many experts in 2022 and their counsel has just about destroyed our nation. They’ve brought our society to ruin. The experts say we came from an ape. That’s absolute rubbish. Yeah sure, you might have reduced your IQ to that of an ape by choice, but that doesn’t mean you came from one. The experts say our planet needs to be saved from getting too hot. That’s more rubbish. Sure, we should be responsible stewards of God’s creation, and we do have to live here, but ruining our country to supposedly save mother earth from dying is stupid. The experts have told us that we all need to get vaccinated, when the vaccines do nothing apart from give us risks from them. The best way to stay healthy is to get out in the sun, be happy, and be left alone to make decisions for our own health rather than the government dictating every square inch of your life. The experts don’t even know that a boy is a boy and a girl is a girl anymore… that’s how expert we have become.

The experts in our society have no clue. And it’s no wonder. They’ve rejected God so they cannot be experts in anything. If Jesus is light, and you’ve rejected the light, you can’t see anything. You know, we can only see what we can see because of light. If every light is put out, we cannot see a thing. You take Jesus Christ out, you don’t have any light to see where you’re going, you cannot see what’s what or where it is or anything. How can someone with no light see the path ahead for themselves and the steps to take… much less all of us as a society and nation. Talk about the blind leading the blind. If Jesus Christ is the truth, and we’ve rejected truth, just how much truth do these experts have for us. They don’t love the truth, so why trust someone who has no heart for the truth? If they’ve rejected THE truth, why listen to them as if they’re going to tell you the truth?

Maybe you’ve been educated out of believing God’s word. And you’ve been educated into foolishness. The Babylon re-education program has claimed many of the brightest and best of us. So many people have been re-educated out of faith in God. They tried it on Daniel… and it worked on many of the Hebrews… but not on him. And you read Daniel and you’ll find that although Daniel might have been the last port of call after Nebuchadnezzar exhausted all other expertise first… Daniel was the one who could shed  light on the matter. Nobody else had the expertise that Daniel had, because nobody else trusted in Daniel’s God like he did. Daniel was far smarter, far more wise, far more knowing, and gave far better counsel than all of Nebuchadnezzar’s experts in his whole realm.

When I hear “I listen to the experts” and “I trust the science”, these people spout that rubbish so easily, but they won’t trust God’s word. They could know and understand, but they don’t want the truth, they want what suits them. They’ll take lying fake experts over God every day of the week. They won’t believe the one who created the heaven and the earth, the one in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. They don’t want God’s authority. They prefer experts that say what soothes them, like Nebuchadnezzar’s soothsayers. You trust the science? Well how scientific is your science really? Daniel was far more scientific than all of Nebuchadnezzar’s scientists. Hint: science proves God’s word is true again and again and again. Nature will tell you there is God, but you choose not to believe it not because there is no evidence for God, but because you’re alienated from God by you love of sin and lies and lust and pride.

Just read the book of Daniel and you’ll see Nebuchadnezzar had a lot… A LOT… of experts. He didn’t lack for them. And he listened to them. But he got sick of listening to them because they ultimately failed him. He got sick of them just saying what he wanted to hear and manipulating him. In terms of having good, wise, truthful, godly counsel… he was sorely lacking. Until Daniel stood before him one day when all his experts were exhausted. Daniel and his friends were distinct from everyone else in his realm. True expertise comes from God’s word, the more you get in God’s word, as Daniel was, the more expertise you will have. The more you will know what’s what and what to do and when to do it. Experts can have all the credentials in the world, but our chief experts in my country cannot even grasp the most basic things like male and female and that humans need human interaction and to be left alone to go out in the sunlight and eat well and that’s what is most important to health.

In summary: don’t bother with the experts of this world, they’re a lying bunch. I listen to the experts? Yeah… I put God’s word, THE TRUTH, first. God’s word comes from the most credentialed person… the Lord of Creation, the God of glory, the one who was there because he always is there, because he is the I Am. I’ll trust God’s word as my experts, all 66 books, they’re great experts for my life. They don’t lie to me, they aren’t full of hot air, and their expertise will take me to heaven with my Lord. Nebuchadnezzar fooled around with his experts for a long time, but he got sick and tired of their rubbish soon enough, how long are you going to suffer all those experts who’s advice and wisdom you value so highly, yet who have done you so poorly all these years? Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, trust his word, the Holy Bible… that’s the right experts and has the right science of salvation and eternal life for your life.
