The End Of 2019 – Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Numbers 6:24 – The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

Numbers 6:25 – The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

Numbers 6:26 – The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Hello readers, this is just a short blog to say I hope you have a great Christmas and new year. The year that was. Well once again all I can say is that God is longsuffering and faithful. The years roll by. I have been thinking about the story of Joseph in Genesis where he interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams which foretold seven good years followed by seven years of bad. We live today in the day of grace, well it has always been the grace of God… but there is time for us to get right with God, there is time to pray to him, there is time to obey him. Joseph gathered up in the good so they’d be ready for the bad. God has given us so much space and knowledge and ability to prepare our hearts, and that will hold us through the tough times. Because there was so much food gathered in Egypt, they had plenty of food, even though there was a very tough famine going on. Prepare your heart toward God, prepare your life by faith. Noah prepared that ark, and it saved him and his family.

The Bible says remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth. One day you will wish you had done that. Because when you are old, all that will truly matter is whether or not you remembered your Creator. I play sports and have interests etc, but they really are meaningless. What truly lasts is what we have done with Christ, and if we dedicate our life to obeying him and telling others the gospel… that stands the test of time. It is truly rewarding. Other things have temporary pleasure and rewards, but who Jesus is and what Jesus does never runs out. You’ll never thirst again when you go to him for the water of life. God has really taught me that it is all about him. It’s easy to say that. But it’s so easy to fall back on who and what we are. To look at ourselves, to compare against others… but I am a sinner, I bring nothing to the table. It is in Jesus Christ that all fullness is found, that all worthiness is found, he alone pleased the Father. Just believe on him. Is it really that hard? If you place your all in him, you won’t be disappointed. You will fail, everyone else will fail… but Jesus Christ and his word never fails.

Christmas is a time where we often don’t really remember Jesus Christ. We talk about remembering him, but we don’t end up remembering him. It’s more just a time of having fun… but God gave us the true gift. Without this gift we are sunk. What we truly need is  our sins forgiven and washed and cleanse and to be made new in Christ. That’s mankind’s biggest need. What’s the point of having this, this and that, yet still be a spiritual leper? Through Jesus Christ we can be forgiven, we can have eternal life, what a privilege to be able to be right with God. It’s amazing how God has already done it already for us, when we realize truly who he is and what he has done for us… while we were sinners, while we hated him, while we were living selfish, proud, lustful lives… he loved us, he died for us, he extends his mercy and grace to us… it blows our mind. He visits us who are not worthy of him. John the Baptist said he was not worthy to loose Jesus’ shoelatchet. It’s true, when we begin the grasp the love of God, we can only wonder. Why me? Why have I found grace in thy sight? Manoah and his wife just looked on while the angel did wondrously the Bible says. Look and live was the command in the desert when they had sinned against God and were bitten by fiery serpents… and Moses made a brazen serpent which he lifted up and anybody who looked upon it lived.

Wickedness seems to keep advancing, it was a year in which it seems like the enemy keeps taking ground. The enemy is relentless. Remember how in the Old Testament so many times they were driven out of the land, or driven to the fringes of the living, they carved out an existence under alien occupation. Remember Gideon threshing by the winepress because Midian would always come in and take everything. Remember how they lived in caves and dens of the earth. It was their land, but they were living like strangers in it. But God can use one person who will just believe him and obey him. Someone who has an ear to hear or a heart to obey. So while evil seems to be dominating, God’s kingdom still rules over all and one day his mountain will fill the whole earth. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. Even when the wicked are great in number and seemingly prospering, advancing and having victories, God is in control, and God is looking for people who will trust and obey him in the face of all odds. You can have confidence in the Lord. Proverbs 28:1 – The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

So I want to thank you for reading my blog. I hope it has been a blessing to you. I hope it’s lead you to the Lord Jesus Christ. To his person. To his word. Remember that star that guided the wise men to Jesus Christ. This blog is meant to be a shining star that leads people where they need to go. Not to me… because I’ve got nothing and am nothing. But it is meant to lead you to scripture, which is where you’ll find Christ on a bended knee. We can’t know God outside of Jesus Christ… Jesus is how we comprehend and know God. And Jesus is found in the pages of scripture, and as you read the Holy Spirit will open your understanding and it will come alive and be alive. It’s not about dead religion, its about the Saviour who came as a baby, God made flesh. God who was born as a human into this world to die and rise again, to fix our sin problem and save us out of it freely, full and forever. Don’t have confidence in yourself, because no matter how in control (you think) you are, or how you’ve got everything sorted in life… the only thing that matters is Christ. In him is all wisdom, all fullness, all goodness, all glory… all life. Just believe on him, go to the cross and see what he did for you.

I quoted that bit from Numbers 6, and it’s a wonderful blessing. But you will not have that blessing outside of being right with Christ. He is the blessed man. In him are all blessings and from him all blessings flow. God said to Abraham in thy seed shall all nations be blessed. And that seed is Christ. He is the one that would bring forgiveness, blessing and peace to a lost and dying and dark world. And he can give you light today. He can make you shine, because he shines. Moses’ face shone because he had been with God. But I do pray for you reader, that God would shine into your heart at this time of year and for the year ahead. Please make sure you are right with God, just talk to him, just be honest with him, he already knows the truth about you. He sent his Son to die for you. And that is what we remember at Christmas, the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. He shall save his people from their sins. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🙂

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 32 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
