Isaiah 2:3 – And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Isaiah 2:4 – And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Isaiah 2:5 – O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.
Hello readers, thank you for reading today, and hope this blog is a blessing to you. Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord. People will say this in the future, there will be a time in the future when all nations shall flow unto the Lord’s house. If you are a Christian today, you should be someone who says to others come, and let us go to the mountain of the Lord. If you are not saved, this blog is an invitation to come to the Lord Jesus Christ, you can be saved, you can learn of him, you can partake in the blessedness of the King of kings and Lord of lords, of the Saviour of mankind. How do we take people to the Lord’s house? By giving them the gospel… by telling them about the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
This part of Isaiah, as much of it is, is prophetic. At the moment this present world we live in is evil, it lies in wickedness and darkness, it’s god is Satan. But in the future, we read in the last days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains. This shows the supremacy and inevitability of the kingdom of God, the kingdom of Jesus Christ will triumph in the end. At the moment the Bible says the kingdom is within us, in the hearts of those who have repented of their sin and have placed their faith and hope in the Lord Jesus Christ… but in the future the kingdom of God, the physical kingdom will be established when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to the earth. He is in heaven at the moment, but in the last days he will return, as he promised before he left after his resurrection. For those who are saved it is a blessed hope, but it’s not good news for those who oppose him, because he will rebuke many people and he will return and destroy those who oppose him with the brightness of his coming. The enemies of the Lord Jesus will melt away before him.
It’s a wonderful promise, knowing that God wins in the end, and it was never in doubt. He is God, he is the Creator, he is Lord, this present world is the way it is because he has ordained it so. Jesus said all power is given unto him in heaven and in earth… and it’s true. God will try our faith, he will see who will take him at his word, who won’t call him a liar but instead will yield to what he says, God will see who simply believes him. The Bible says the meek will inherit the earth, and the future belongs to those who repent of their sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. If you oppose Jesus Christ, you have no future, it’s as simple as that. Eternity is a long time to reap what you have sown in wickedness in the short time here.
Your story doesn’t have to end in hell. There is a wonderful invitation being given in this scripture. Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord. If you are unsaved, you can get right with God today through Jesus Christ, you can simply come to the cross and believe on God who came as a man who died for you, and rose for the dead and gives you forgiveness and eternal life as a free gift of love and grace. Imagine a people who want to go to the house of the Lord, who want to hear and learn of him. Why aren’t we like that today? There are those giving the invitation, and those who are being invited. If you are not saved today, you are being invited to get saved and partake in the blessedness of Christ. You can be forgiven your sins today, right here and right now, you can have eternal life and know it. Because Jesus Christ is God, trusting in him, placing your faith in him… it’s a sure thing. It’s as sure as the fact that in the last days the mountain of the Lord’s house will be established in the top of the mountains and exalted above all the hills. The Lord Jesus Christ is above all, there is noone greater, there is nobody higher. Every knee shall bow to him, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord… it’s not a matter of if… it’s a matter of when.
The nations will flow to God’s house in the last days. It’s funny because one of the main excuses I hear from people to justify their rejection of Jesus Christ is… what about if you were born in a Muslim country, you wouldn’t believe in the Bible but in the Koran!? It’s a very wrong argument for many reasons … but in the future ALL nations will flow unto God’s house. There are many nations today that have separated themselves from God, they rejected the gospel throughout history, they’ve gone the way they chose, they’re not like they are because they haven’t had a chance, they’re like they are because they rejected truth time and time again… a bit like all people all around the world? But nevertheless everyone was created by Jesus Christ, we all come from different backgrounds, cultures, opportunities… but it doesn’t dictate how we end up. And eternity is a long time, it’s better to live a life of trouble here for a few years and have a blessed eternity, than have a rich, full life here yet go to hell forever. The rich man went to hell remember, while the beggar went to heaven. Being exposed to truth is no guarantor of acceptance of truth, there are many children raised in godly homes who have left the faith, and many raised in ungodly homes who got saved. The queen of the south journeyed to see Solomon, Nebuchadnezzar recognized the Son of God in the midst of the fire walking with the Hebrew children…. we all come from Adam, and we all come from one Creator. Many nations completely left God and have grown in their sinfulness and darkness, but it makes God no less God, or truth no less the truth. Nor does it mean God can’t and doesn’t’ reach people all around the world… he is the righteous Judge, and he knows those who seek him and who love him.
So we see in this chapter that God’s house will be exalted above everything else, because Jesus Christ is God, he is the truth… and he will rise above all the false gods, false religions, everything. It is when Jesus Christ is lifted up that he draws men unto himself, Jesus Christ is above all. Mountains refer to kingdoms in the Bible, and his kingdom will be established when he returns. It will pay to have believed him, because when he returns it won’t be to die on the cross, but it will be to rule and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. The day of the Lord is a fearful day for those who assemble themselves against him. But don’t say you weren’t warned, nor were you not invited. God is very longsuffering, nobody who goes to hell went there without fighting against God’s Holy Spirit to get there, they refused, rejected and spat in the face of God. Yet today while you live and breathe, God still invites you, and so do his children… come ye. This invitation is much like the invitation found in Revelation, because at the end when all is said and done, the prophecy complete and a finished scripture… at the end Jesus says surely I come quickly. That’s what’s next. And in the meantime, there is the invitation from the Spirit and the bride to come, and take freely of the water of life… it’s up to you. A call has gone out, around the world many times over, come ye, come to the Lord, come to the cross and behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world!
The same invitation that is given in Isaiah is what you have today. This blog itself is designed to be an invitation to come to God and to learn of God. This blog is a signpost pointing to Jesus Christ, not to me, not to my thoughts, but to the Bible, I am just another one saying, come ye, and let us go to the mountain of the Lord! Any true Christian should be able to lead people not to themselves, not to their own opinions and theories, not down rabbit trails, not to gurus, not to lies… but to the Lord Jesus Christ. Take people to Jesus Christ. Remember all those people in the New Testament who took their sick to Jesus Christ. We all have spiritual issues that need fixing, and to fix them…. and they are much more important than physical issues and eternal… and the solution to our spiritual death and infirmities are in Jesus Christ. He heals the broken spirits, he gives us new life, his life, that same life which lived sinlessly, that same life which rose from the dead, that same life which lives forevermore.
People won’t learn war anymore in this time. Think of all the people that call for peace these days, but peace will only be experienced on earth when Jesus Christ returns and reigns. There has never been world peace and never will be apart from Jesus Christ. There has been false peace, but not true peace. People say peace, peace, when there is no peace. There is no peace with God until your sins are dealt with and washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. This scripture applies both personally and corporately. Do you have peace inside yourself today? Peace with God? Are you right with the Lord God? Or are you incomplete? Empty? Dead inside? We are only ever complete in Christ. Only Christ can make us alive inside. Only Christ can give us peace with God, as he is the way to the Father. Humanity is at war with God, and with each other, despite their best attempts to unify, and they do find commonality in coming against God, seeking to burst the bands of conscience, the bands of conviction, the bands of the truth and love and goodness and holiness of God… but you can’t beat God. The only true peace on this earth, the peace that was proclaimed by the angels at the birth of Christ, which didn’t happen the first time… will happen the second time Jesus comes, when he reigns, and there is peace on earth. There is peace on earth when God’s house is established in the top of the mountains.
And this pattern is the same for our life. When God is number one in our life, our life can be at peace with God, even in this sin cursed world. When we get the order for our life right, putting God first, then that will flow into every other area of our life. And what an attitude to have wanting to be taught by him, wanting to walk in his paths … why don’t we place that value on God’s word today, which people in the future will value so highly? We already know how the story finishes, yet we still persist with our own way, with our own sin, we still continue on into vanity, failure and confusion of our own faces. O come ye… and let us walk in the light of the Lord. Do you need light for your life? The light of life itself? The light of life is Jesus Christ… he is the light of this world, if you walk in him, you will not walk in darkness. He will light your life today if you will believe on him. His life in you will be a light to you and in this dark world. There are many false lights, but Jesus is the true Light. He has lighted every man that has come into the world. This means we all are without excuse. But the problem is when that light shines, we turn away, because it reveals our sinfulness, we love lies over truth because they suit us more.
I hope this blog serves as that same voice saying come ye and let us go up to the Lord’s house. You will definitely be going “up” in your life, when you seek Jesus Christ… he is in heaven at right hand of God the Father right this second. We should want to come to Jesus Christ ourselves, and help others get to Jesus Christ. Remember the Samaritan woman, she met Jesus Christ at Jacob’s well. That well that Jacob digged so many years back was the meeting place for a life changing moment for a woman of Samaria. She had chewed through husbands, but had not found what she was looking for, that place in her life that only Jesus Christ could fix and satisfy. What Jesus Christ alone can give and will give can’t be found in anything else in existence. Forgiveness of sin and eternal life, hope and purpose and fulfillment and joy and peace … we can often try many different things, just as this woman tried husbands, yet none of them can meet that deep spiritual need we have, the need for our sins to be fixed, the need for restoration to God… after all we were designed for God’s pleasure, and our fulfillment comes in walking in the image of Christ, as we were originally created in the image of God. Sin ruined that image, and mankind fell dramatically and catastrophically, but that is what we really need, sin to be confessed, fixed, cured, forgiven, washed clean, and new life to be given, God’s life of his very own dear Son sacrificed for us to be what lives in us and through us. Let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, come on. Let’s hear of him, let’s be taught by him, let’s walk in his paths, let’s walk in the light of the Lord. And you can do that today, as they will do in the future when Jesus Christ returns. It’s a blessed time, and we have a blessed hope, and a blessed future in Him. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 30 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
