THE Inconvenient Truth

Genesis 8:22 – While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

2 Peter 3:5 – For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

2 Peter 3:6 – Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

2 Peter 3:7 – But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Hello readers. Today I will be talking about not “an” inconvenient truth, but “THE” Inconvenient truth. Back in high school, I watched a movie called “An Inconvenient Truth”. This blog is a play on the title of that movie, it was quite big at the time and talked about global warming. Many students are taught many things about how man has ruined the environment post industrial revolution and how the earth is hotting up and the sea levels are rising and we all have this common global threat to unify against. Fear is put into their hearts as people with “Dr” in their name, or “phd” to back their assertions, or just big names in society like leaders, actors, stars throw their weight as if to legitimize it. Jude 1:16 says … and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. If you think about this, many people admire and look up to people “because of advantage”. This advantage is… “I know more than you because I’m a scientist”, or “I’m more educated than you”, or “who are you?”. But they’ve overlooked the Bible.

Nobody consults what the Bible says. And the Bible contains God’s word, which is truth. So a humble nobody who believes the Bible can confound all the world’s mightiest. If you want to know the truth of the matter go to God’s word. And people who will do so are rare. When Belshazzar saw the writing on the wall, nobody was able to understand the writing, much less what it meant. People that can tell you what the writing on the wall is are more than worth their weight in gold. Get Daniel! The writing is on the wall today, THE inconvenient truth. You see, the writing on the wall didn’t suit Belshazzar, he thought Babylon was indestructible, he wanted to have a good time partying. Al Gore, the face of An Inconvenient Truth, would have us believe that the writing on the wall is that we must save the earth because we’ve destroyed it, and we are running out of time to do so. However, what does the Bible say? Read Genesis 8:22 quoted above. God promised while the earth remained that seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night would not cease.

Al Gore misdirected you to a wrong inconvenient truth. Which distracts you from what you should really care about. The future of your soul. You see the Bible says a lot on what is going to happen in the future. 2 Peter 3:10 – But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. This earth is definitely going to burn up, but not how Al Gore says so, not because of why Al Gore says so, not when Al Gore says so… the earth will remain until God returns to once against judge his creation… in the which the heaven and earth will be burnt up with fervent heat. So investing your stock, your future, your dreams in this cursed creation, which groans not under the tons of carbon dioxide, but under the weight of man’s sin… it is a bad investment.

God judged the earth globally once. Noah’s flood. You see, God has given us a lot of information so we can be actually prepared for the future. The Bible will make you future proof. God gives us a lesson in history from Noah’s flood, because in the past God destroyed the old world with a flood. History it has been said, is a teacher. Change the history and you change the lesson. Why do you think people oppose, ridicule, mock, scorn, dispute Noah’s flood? Not because it didn’t happen, but because it is THE inconvenient truth. If God flooded the world, and the next time he judges his creation with fire, than you have some getting right with God to do, you have some humbling to do, some authority to yield to, there is responsibility to be taken, and accountability to be reckoned with. But people don’t want to do that. In Psalms 2… the people of this world say speaking of God when they take council together “Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.” People want to be free from God, from the cords of conscience, the witness of creation, they want to escape the light that God gave them. Because the Bible says God has put the knowledge of himself in man, but the problem is man didn’t want to retain God in his knowledge.

Man doesn’t want to hear about a flood that destroyed the world and killed everyone bar the people in the ark. That is a very, very inconvenient truth. You know, God has promised to destroy this world with fire, but he’s also made many other promises. Here’s one. 2 Peter 3:13 – Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. There’s a new heaven and new earth coming, but it is for those who believed on Jesus Christ, who took God at his word. You see, as much “evidence” as you want… God ultimately wants you to choose to believe his word. The just shall live by faith the Bible says. God is pleased with faith. He will show you many things that will confirm his word to your heart, but not without you believing him and thus not calling him a liar anymore. Will you take him at your word?

The Bible says in 2 Peter 3 that they are “willingly ignorant”. Sounds like a inconvenient truth that people don’t’ want to hear… don’t you agree? People don’t mind Al Gore’s preaching, but the don’t like Noah’s preaching. Yet only the word of God is actually telling you the truth. You can say you want the truth, but do you actually want it? If you cared so much about a planet heating up of which you will spend only 80 years (and that would be doing well) on give or take… why don’t you care about an eternity in hell and the lake of fire? That sounds much hotter than this planet we are currently on, where we still have hot and cold, summer and winter. Noah prepared  for the flood by building an ark. Why don’t you build yourself an ark for God’s judgement, the real thing you should be prepared against, than fretting yourself over a climate change who’s science’s only reliability is found in that it is always wrong and subject to change.

All we see today is the earth remaining, and while it does, we still have seedtime and harvest, hot and cold, summer and winter, day and night. Science is meant to be based on observations and repeatability… actually science is proving God’s word time and time again. Understanding how fossils are formed, and there are a beyond counting number of fossils out there being found… it is proof of a one time cataclysmic event… Noah’s flood. Satan of course doesn’t want you to be warned and prepared and get saved. So he works tirelessly so you will be willingly ignorant of Noah’s flood. Because our lives consist of lust and pride we obviously don’t want a narrative that calls us to account, we want alternative facts… an alternative narrative, just as that Amalekite offered David of Saul’s death, even brandishing evidence as if to legitimize his story. The Gibeonites tricked Israel by pretending they had been on a long journey, don’t be similarly tricked by forgetting to consult God’s word as they did, and just be sucked in by the first lie that comes down the pipe. That tribe of Gibeon was a constant reminder and a constant presence, a thorn in Israel’s flesh… many Christians today buy all sorts of lies which really harm their walk with God and render them unworthy disciples of Christ. If you can’t believe Genesis 1:1, how can you trust God’s word, his word whose veracity and reliability is what our salvation hinges upon? After all, our salvation is based on promise, what worth is a promise from a liar? But God cannot lie, in fact he swears by his word, and he has elevated his word above his name.

The inconvenient truth is that Noah’s flood happened. 2 Peter 3 says people are willingly ignorant of this fact. The inconvenient truth is that God is going to judge this world again, and the heavens and the earth will burn up with fire and melt with fervent heat. So we are exhorted to prepare ourselves against the day of judgment. How do we prepare? Just as Noah prepared an ark, which is a picture of Jesus Christ… we are commanded to repent of our sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness of our sin and eternal life. We are also saved to bear fruit, and to warn others so that they can be prepared for the future. The future isn’t going to happen as Al Gore says so. While the earth remains, our seasons, hot and cold, everything will remain. So instead of chasing red herrings, instead of getting completely sidetracked from what really matters, instead of getting distracted and walking the broad ride with the rest of the blind, you can get your head in God’s word for yourself, it is available to you, you are without excuse and learn about the real inconvenient truth.

God tells you about the past judgement, and warns of the future judgement… you know why? So you can be saved. 2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. God doesn’t want you to perish. He tells us all this not for OUR destruction, but so we can avoid destruction that will come to us in our sin. God doesn’t give us his word to say haha you’re dead, he gave us his word so we could know, so we could believe, so we could take his free gifts of mercy, grace, love, truth found in his Son Jesus Christ, who died for us, who took our curse for us, so that we can be forgiven and have eternal life. The future of a believer is pretty good, you have a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness… that’s right, no sin, no more pain, suffering, evil, torment, sickness, lust, pride, selfishness, exploitation, lies… that’s a pretty good promise and truth from God. People around bought Al Gore’s inconvenient truth, which is no truth… yet the truth of Noah’s flood and coming judgement and the need to be saved is the actual inconvenient truth for them. Al Gore’s word… or God’s word? Your choice today? Why not let God be true and every man a liar – Romans 3:4.

There is going to be a new heaven and a new earth which you can be part of and look forward to beyond this death plagued existence but if you choose to reject Jesus Christ, who is THE truth, who died for you and offers you forgiveness and eternal life… then you’ll get hell and ultimately the lake of fire instead, which is the real global warming you should be concerned about. Which the earth remains we’ll keep having seasons, hot and cold, summer and winter… but just like Noah’s flood in the past, there is a fiery judgment coming to this world when God says so. You can get in the ark of Jesus Christ, or you can go it yourself outside the ark and see how far it gets you, which won’t be very far. The Bible says if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly appear? We don’t stand a chance without Christ. This is the real inconvenient truth and the one you should get prepared for.

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 32 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
