Exodus 32:22 – And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.

Exodus 32:23 –  For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

Exodus 32:24 – And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.

Hello readers, different kind of blog today, a thought from Exodus 32, the famous golden calf saga in the Bible. There is of course so much that we can get from this story, and so many different applications… but today I want to look at something Aaron said. He said when he cast the gold into the fire… out came this calf! Do you really think if he melted all the gold, that the calf just made itself? In Exodus 32:4 – And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. So Aaron lied to Moses, and today in this blog I want to look at this as Aaron’s brush with evolution.

Today we are taught with great authority by the wise and the noble and the elite and the learned the great evolutionary story of a big bang, and how something came from nothing. They really sell it well, well enough to fool many people anyway. Evolution cannot explain origins, but add some zeroes to the year count in their and with Phds and Drs to your name, suddenly their authority really makes you look like the idiot than them if you dispute their narrative. Of course, the Genesis 1 account of origins is very different. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Does something really ever come from nothing? Nothing is after all… nothing. Can you take nothing and make a life out of it… starting with nothing (aka not borrowing things that already there)? Can you breathe into something the breath of life and make it alive? It doesn’t take time, it takes God. Nothing will be nothing and stay nothing. That gold didn’t make itself into a calf… Aaron got his graving tool and melted down the gold and made the calf. Aaron told a complete lie to Moses, and evolution is a lie today.

They mix in some science though to validate it. Because in Aaron’s story was also some truth, but he mixed a toxic lie in with the truth and stated noble intentions. That is evolution in a nutshell, it is deadly poison mixed with some truths. It will frame a world that doesn’t exist, and leave you with no future, it will teach you that God is a liar, the same God on whom your future and soul depends, whose breath is in your lungs. Paul warned Timothy to beware of oppositions of science so called. Science means knowledge, in science to determine truth a method of enquiry is employed through observation and experimentation. Of course, science has limitations, as we are limited beings, we cannot see the spiritual world. Science is useful, but it shouldn’t be your god, particularly science which is underpinned by and founded in the denial of God. Jesus Christ IS the truth, so to eliminate him from your science means you aren’t seeking truth, though you may claim… and you certainly will never find truth. Science always changes, is always proven wrong, so it’s shifting sand you’re basing your very soul upon. Proverbs 18:2 – A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. If you are a fool, or have talked to a fool (Biblically defined) you know that they aren’t interested in THE truth, but in a truth which suits them, shaped by them, just as Aaron shaped his golden calf.

In Romans 1:23 we read … And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. That’s evolution. That’s the golden calf. I would recommend reading Romans 1 as that describes our society today. Romans 1 says when they knew God… Because we all have that knowledge of God in us. That is inescapable. There is the witness of God in man, be it conscience, be it creation around us, light that God gave us. The gospel has been preached to every creature under heaven. The Bible says the Spirit, the water and the blood bear witness in earth. The problem isn’t man doesn’t know God, but that he chooses not to retain God in his knowledge… as Romans 1 says. Just like John 3, the condemnation is that men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. And really that is true of all of us, we hate God not because he doesn’t exist, but because we like our sin. Wind back to the fathers of evolution, like Darwin or Lyell… they hated God, they sought to remove God from the picture. Darwin was a naturalist … a naturalist only believe in the natural world. The natural world is their god. Their truth is nature, a bit like having a calf as your god right. That’s all evolution is, age old pagan nature worshipping religion. All dressed up nice and fancy, just as Aaron who chipped away with his graving tool til he came up with something that he was willing to bow to and dance to.

But they do present it with facts, just as Aaron presented his lie with facts. It makes it all so much more palatable. Satan mixes truth and lie like an expert. I did a previous blog on how an Amalekite came to David after Saul’s death with a very different version of events, that is, how Saul died. Evolution is an alternative history to Biblical history. The Amalekite came with Saul’s crown and bracelet as proof, and evolutionists come with proof in their hand that really sells the masses. However, David could tell he was a liar, and so could Moses tell Aaron was lying. It’s funny how most fall down… in Babylon, everyone fell down bar three Hebrew children. It’s only a few… because strait is the gate and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be which find it. It’s the broad road that leads to destruction, many there be which go in thereat the Bible says… and evolution is a signpost pointing the way on the broad road.

When will people smarten up? Well people won’t, unless they get saved, born again and have the Spirit of God. Salvation is so much more than forgiveness of sin, it’s a change of identity, mentality, it’s spiritual change, its being translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Jesus Christ. It takes the Spirit of God to break you free from the indoctrination, philosophy, mentality, thinking, ways, means, fashion and ultimately blindness and darkness of this world. The Bible says Satan has blinded the minds of unbelievers. Why? Lest they should see the glorious light of the gospel. Satan doesn’t want you to get saved! Why would someone willingly go to hell! How crazy can you be? What would make someone that crazy with their eternal destiny. It’s because the problem is spiritual. We wrestle not against flesh and blood… but against principalities, and powers, and rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places. When the spies came to Jericho, the king of Jericho wanted Rahab to surrender them… he didn’t want Rahab saved… she was a harlot in Jericho… Satan want’s you dead in sins, lock, stock and barrel.

Jesus said the truth would set us free. TRUTH is powerful, it liberates you from something… the course of this world, and it’s ruler. Rahab got deliverance because truth came knocking on her door, she had HEARD, and she believed, and she did something with that information. It changed her life. We need deliverance from this evil world we are in. This world has a course and at the end of it’s course is… death and hell. People of this world walk according to the course of this world. Why do you think people of this world follow fads, fashions, trends… they go whatever way the wind is blowing. Whatever popular comes down the pipe, they follow it. It’s because they are of this world, they walk according to the course of this world… according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience…  you see, people believe all the lies, not because they think about it, or it makes sense, BUT because it comes from spiritual high command. The problem is spiritual, and without a spiritual cure, you will walk according to the whims of your spiritual leader of this world, the devil. Natural man doesn’t believe in God because natural man doesn’t know God, and can’t know, natural man is fallen, dead in sins.

In 1 John we read this… 1 John 4:5,6 – They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. If you’re not saved you are spiritually dead, which is why people don’t get what Christians get and why they can’t delineate between truth and error! God lets all these lies happen to prove who loves him, who is in truth, who has the Spirit of truth… after that is the identity of the Holy Spirit. The people of Israel sure kicked up a lot of stink against Moses, they didn’t need to much encouragement to get into the golden calf religion though did they! It’s amazing how people oppose truth with every fiber of their being, but boy they don’t need to be encouraged to follow this world’s fads and ways and beliefs.

And that’s how you get someone to believe that something came from nothing. When really it doesn’t. Because something from nothing doesn’t make sense. We all know better than that. But when it comes to the things of God, suddenly people believe it. Because unsaved man is in rebellion to God and will believe ANYTHING that is anti God, that is anti Bible, that is anti truth, that is anti Jesus Christ. They are of the world, they speak of the world, they hear the world and the world hears them. So Satan pushes the evolutionary lie, and people buy it. It makes no sense to the believer, but you can listen to them ardently defend their beliefs. Ultimately it is a belief (they say it isn’t) and it is a religion (they say it isn’t) just the spirit is not the Holy Spirit but the spirit of man, a spirit that is in error, that answers not to God, but to the devil, that hears not God, but hears the devil. People believe in the natural world, it is their god. Their truths are defined by science. Science (so called), because it’s not about finding truth, but about finding a truth that does NOT include God (and hence not really IN truth a search for truth).

People sincerely believe evolution. You won’t convince them otherwise. Because you’re not arguing facts, but two different spirits are clashing. If you have the Spirit of God, you’re arguing with the spirit of man, the spirit of this world… and the two are incompatible, they don’t hear each other, or agree. It is no wonder climate change is such a big deal, their god is being threatened, creation. Yet the Bible says sin affects creation worse than any tree felled or fossil fuel burned. The creation in fact groans under the weight of our sin, which was cursed because of disobedience to God, a creation that spews the inhabitants out because of their sin. Your sin affects the earth more than anything else. In the future there will be a new heaven and new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness! That’s what we look forward to, if you are saved! Something didn’t come from nothing, Aaron was Moses’ second in command and he was caught up in all of it. He tried selling a lie to Moses that he threw some gold in the fire and out came the calf. It was a load of rubbish. Just like evolution is a load of rubbish. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And later on in Genesis, God created man and breathed into man the breath of life, and man became a living soul. God made a good creation, and man messed it up by disobeying God and going it alone. Our lives always resemble ruin when we go our own way. We aren’t evolving up… we are getting worse. Death isn’t the hero of the story, producing better and better species, death is an enemy, that will bring an eternity in hell for you if you don’t believe on Jesus Christ.

Something really doesn’t come from nothing. Aaron had a brush with evolution long before Charles Darwin began to pen his book of lies. That thinking had been around for ages, and read the rest of Exodus 32, it is a dire story of what happened while Moses was away. Jesus Christ is away at the moment, but he’s coming back, is he going to find humanity like Moses found Israel… dancing, naked, fornicating, in sin. Many were killed that day… all because they bought into one big fat lie of a religion. That’s all evolution is, people only buy it because they are of the world, and IT is of the world. But at the end of the day it’s just golden calf religion, powerless to help you or save you, and really it’s all just about you doing what you want to do, because the Lord didn’t sanction their sin, he was too restrictive right… but golden calf religion was a lot of fun! Moses said… who is on the Lord’s side? And who is on the Lord’s side today, who will believe the Bible account, which is true and will stand the test of time. Everyone else may be dancing to the golden calf, but you don’t have to, you don’t have to walk according to the course of this world. Repent of your sin and call upon the name of the Lord Jesus to save you, and the rest he will set in order, but the first thing he wants to do with you is save you from your sins. And then you don’t have to be a part of any lies anymore, taken in by them, or spitting them out yourself. Aaron was pretty big on team Israel, and he got taken in, you can be wrong too, so we need to watch and pray, lest we enter into temptation.
