The Perfect Day

Proverbs 4:18 – But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Hey all, new blog time today. The perfect day is coming. The eternal day, the day of Christ. Titus 2:13 – Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. For those of us who are saved, we have a lively hope the Bible says. Although life right now may be tough, we have the promise of a new heaven and a new earth, we have the promise of Jesus returning as King of kings and Lord of lords and putting down all rule and ruling in perfect righteousness. The future is hopeful for the saved, but for the unsaved there is no future hope. That’s why the wicked live for today… eat, drink, for tomorrow we die. Beyond this death there’s nothing, they don’t even think about it… it’s foolishness, this short life here is just the beginning of our eternal existence. Our eternal future is of utmost importance, and our eternal future gets sorted right here, right now. It doesn’t need to be doom and gloom. Jesus said in John 5:28,29 – Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. We are all going to die, unless we are alive at the coming of the Lord, but odds are you (the reader) and I are both going to die. For the saved person, death is just the pathway to eternal life, glory and blessedness, in fact a saved person never actually dies, a saved person just exits this mortal frame and to die is to be with Christ, and in fact so good is it, that Paul said he wanted to and longed to die and be with Christ, Paul said death was gain. Wow! No wonder the Bible talks about such great hope, such precious promises. We cling to God’s word, and God always keeps his word, in fact so sure is his word that he has magnified it above his name.

The perfect day is the day of the Lord. The day of the Lord is dreaded by the unsaved, but it is welcomed to the saved. Because the Lord Jesus Christ is going to sort it all out when he returns. He’ll separate the wheat from the chaff, the sheep from the goats, the wicked from the righteous, the just from the unjust, people will get and go where they deserve. The day is a day of rest for this earth, after thousands of years of tough human history, all the death, pain, suffering, sin, wickedness… the earth will experience rest under the reign of the Lord Jesus Christ. The curse will be finally lifted, the lion will lay down with the lamb. The Bible says the just shall live by faith, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ makes us just, because he is Just, and he is the justifier of them that believe in him. You may be dead in trespasses and sins right now, an enemy of God, fully alienated, spiritually dead, spiritually and morally bankrupt, but he can justify you, because he did no sin. What a deal… you get his righteousness, he takes your sin… no wonder the Bible says God is love. God made him to be sin for us, that’s why Jesus is the Lamb of God, Jesus fulfilled the law and died so that we could live. So although we are sinners, when we are saved, we receive his righteousness. He took our sins upon himself in exchange for our freedom. His blood as it flowed out at Calvary paid the price, such precious, innocent, pure blood, a life and death and sacrifice that pleased God to the fullest, that satisfied Holy God’s just demands against sin. Sin must be paid for. Justice cannot be averted. God is Holy and Just. So God provided a way out for us, for hopeless, wicked, fallen, depraved humanity. Jesus bore the curse, the wrath of God in and upon himself, so that we could live… because God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever beliveth on him should not perish but have everlasting life.

The perfect day is coming. And if you are saved, you are the just. Not because you are so great, but because you have been justified by the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and his acceptance into heaven and seating at the right hand of the Father. And our path (should) shine more and more, until the perfect day. We should grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus. We should be transformed into the image of Christ by the Holy Spirit. Is your path shining more and more? Because it’s not even our path, it’s the path God has for us, and as we get closer and closer to the perfect day, as we go through life, it shines brighter and brighter. Our light should shine, because Jesus is the Light, he is the light of the world. Is he shining in you and through you? The Bible says in 1 Corinthians that now we see through a glass darkly… and then face to face. And then shall we know even as we are known. Because we know in part the Bible says. We are very limited aren’t we. We don’t know, we don’t see, we don’t comprehend. We are helpless babes whether we see it or not. God wants us to trust him, to trust his word, to place our faith in his Son, God in the flesh, who died for us on the cross, Jesus Christ. This phase of life is tough. But it’s also very precious, the Bible says the trial of our faith is precious, the hairs of our head are numbered by God. But we do have great treasure, we bear the great treasure in simple, earthen vessels. We are very precious to him. But we have very finite limited eyesight, we can’t see the future, all we have to guide us is God’s word through the power and illumination of the Holy Spirit in us… if we are saved. Psalm 119:105 says Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. If you want a path that’s lightened, get in his word, it will light your path, a path that will shine more and more as you get closer to glory.

The perfect day is coming, right now we are living in a sin cursed, fallen wicked world. A world which hates Jesus, a world that is filled with darkness. Our best life is not now. 1 John 5:19 – And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. The world is in darkness, and the darkness is closing in. The world has gone very, very cold, Christians have also gone cold. Matthew 24:12 – And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Spiritual coldness has gripped this world, and the next thing on the calendar is the coming of the Lord Jesus. The prophets have spoken, God has spoken, his word, the gospel has gone through the whole world. The invitation has been given! Whomsoever will may come! And come and take freely of the water of life! However, although the odds are stacked against Christians, we have the promise and the reality that as he (Jesus) is, so are we in this world. We are NOW the sons of God. We are saved right now, sealed unto that day. God will deliver us out of our troubles and see us through to the end. That’s why our path will shine more and more. Because he in us will endure to the end. It will be worth it. 2 Corinthians 4:17,18 – For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

The perfect day is coming, the day of the Lord. It is great for saved people, those prepared for his coming, those right with him already in this life. But not so great for unrepentant, unregenerate sinners. Zephaniah 1:14 – The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. Because the day is great and dreadful for the wicked. First of all God’s wrath shall be poured out on this world. There shall be a time of great trouble and tribulation that the world has never seen nor ever will see again. Read Revelation 6 which culminates in this verse, as all the people, small and great, try hiding thsemelves from God saying … Revelation 6:16,17 – And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? But once God sorts it all out, and the wicked are dealt with, we read in … Matthew 13:43 – Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Jesus is going to deal with the wickedness of the world first, and then he will reign.  2 Thessalonians 1:7,8 – And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. So it’s serious, the future holds no fears for those who are saved, who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, but the future is eternally bleak for those who do not choose to believe. It all depends on what you do with Jesus. He is Lord. Bow to him now, while there’s hope and time, or bow at judgement when its time to be sentenced and receive what you garnered to yourself in this life. If you think you have any redeeming power even in a good moral life you have mustered… read this. Romans 4:4 – Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. Yes, we should live right and do right after we get saved, but that’s because we ARE saved, not to BE saved or KEEP saved. For saved people, we look forward to the perfect day. The day when all tears shall be wiped away from our eyes. But for some Christians it won’t be as great a day. There will be tears of regret. There will be shame, there will be a fearful looking as we see the waste of our lives, the vanity of our existences. As we miss out on rewards, as all our worthless, faithless, immature life gets burnt up and all that’s left is our salvation. We should grow up in the faith. 1 John 2:28 – And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

So getting back to the first verse. The light should be shining in us and through us. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 – 16 – Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. If you are saved, Jesus dwells in your heart by faith (the Holy Spirit). If you are saved, the light should shine brighter and brighter, your path should shine more and more through life, as you move towards glory. So it’s time to shine. Maybe it’s time for God to shine for the first time in your heart. The shining is based on the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Son of God, who came to earth and died for you and for me, and arose and lives forevermore for us as well. It all starts with believing on him, with God shining in our hearts. 2 Corinthians 4:6 – For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Just as Paul, a Christian killer, breathing threatenings and slaughterings, found out on the road to Damascus in Acts 9:3 we read – And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven. You may not see a physical light, but we all need the spiritual light turned on by the Father, the convicting and moving of the Holy Ghost, illuminating our darkened, alienated, wicked minds and forever changing us, a 180 degree turn in our lives. Peter was in prison, hopeless, but in Acts 12:7 – And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. It’s time to be set free, and go free, the light can shine into your prison, the chains can fall off, and your life can shine more and more until the perfect day.

The last two verses to share today…

2 Peter 1:19 – We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.

Malachi 4:2 – But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 32 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
