We Need A New Nature!

Galatians 6:15 – For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

2 Peter 1:4 – Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2 Corinthians 6:16 – And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Hebrews 8:10 – For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Hello, new blog today. God change me. Because I cannot change myself. Self change does not stick. Many people try it. Many people want to be better. To better themselves. It’s an entire industry of people trying to look better, feel better, do better. But what’s the change that actually matters? The change INSIDE. Because we all grow old and die. So what’s inside is what counts, and that’s what God deals with first. Body comes last, we wait our glorified body (only saved people get a new body at the resurrection)… but God will work inside out… the world works outside in. Outside first. Vanity. People today, we all get stuck into the “trying” business. But we need God to change us. For God to be in us. Because that what brings the change. True lasting change. Just like godly repentance… which the Bible says is repentance not to be repented of. Think about what that means! Many people are sorry, but “get over” being sorry. You won’t ever “get over” being saved and Jesus Christ and his cross.

When we get saved, we received the Spirit of Christ… he comes to dwell in us… and forever at that. You see, when we start out, we are born in sin, we are sinners by birth, by nature. And that nature cannot be changed. It is set. And God doesn’t overhaul it. Instead he births a new creature inside you… born of God. Which is totally separate from our old nature. So we have an inner man and an outer man. We have a battle on our hands internally. Will Jesus be LORD of your life though? Look at his name… Lord means to make someone above you, is Jesus seated on the throne of your life. Is he Jesus to you, he was called Jesus because the angel said he shall save his people from their sins. Has he saved you from your sins? Is he YOURS? And you are his? He is the Christ… because he is the one, the promised one, the one anointed of God… he is God in the flesh, God with us, utterly distinct from and above anyone else that has ever walked the earth.

Anyway, we need a new nature. God will change you. He will create a new person in you. If you are in Christ you are a new creature the Bible says. Jesus comes to you, he live in you through his Holy Spirit. He is seated in heaven, and therefore so are we already. We have access to heaven because he’s there right now, interceding for us. That’s why Jesus had to go away… we can think why couldn’t he physically be here… but he said it was expedient for us that he go away and be with his Father. Because he is in the heavenlies, he is passed into heaven, so can we! We are seated in heaven! Because he is with the Father, so we have access to the Father. Unfathomable. He’s never stopped loving us… right now he’s preparing for us, interceding for us, this thing is alive right now. Do you have the Spirit of the Lord? Is it alive to you this thing, or dead religion? Words on paper, rituals, ticking Sunday attendance, going through the motions? It’s time to stop conning ourselves, if it’s not a reality, it can be a reality… it’s good to accept the truth and then we are in a position to address it. And its God that does… let him go to work… all we have to do is believe, get humble and honest with him… he knows the truth anyway. Just will we be truthful? He is faithful. We have to abandon all attempts of self betterment, of trying to do better, of reformation… we need to repent of our sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. He that HATH the Son hath life, and he that HATH NOT the Son of God hath not life. Simple as that. Have you taken possession of him and what he’s done for you by faith? Or is it all head knowledge, you know all about it, but it’s just left at that. No new life, no change, no salvation. And you are yet dead in your sins. Because without the Spirit of God, you cannot see or enter the kingdom of God. You are NOT in his kingdom. You belong to a kingdom, just not his kingdom. You are on the losing kingdom as well. The Bible says the Holy Ghost reproves the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement. Have you been reproved, convicted, pricked in the heart… have you ever been broken before God?

We need change. True change. Lasting change. Not change that unravels and we go back to who we were. The only true change you will ever have is receiving the Lord Jesus Christ. And him being in you. Living in you. Living through you. Enduring in you. Working in you. Bringing forth fruit in you. You have to get IN the vine. Tap into him. We are just branches… if you don’t abide in the vine… the Bible says you will be cast forth as a branch, and men gather them and they are burned. Unless you get in Christ, abide in him, STAY in him, remain in him (ie. TRULY SAVED and then growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus), you will be cast out and burnt up. It does matter what you do with Jesus… in fact that’s only what really matters this side of eternity. Once you die, you are stuck with your decision forever. Revelation 22:11 – He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Butttt… instead of getting born again… we go the reformation route. We overhaul our nature. And we can do a good job of it. WE clean ourselves up, wash ourselves, eliminate some dirty behaviors. We can live morally, and right, and good. We do a pretty good job in the energy of the flesh. The Bible says we can desire to make a fair shew in the flesh. We put up a good effort. But it is still self effort. And it’s tiring. And it’s futile. Because our nature is still our nature. It can’t be changed. Can a leopard change his spots? We can tame it, bridle it, there are people out there who show amazing discipline and control… but it’s still the sinful nature… utterly corrupt, deceitful, wicked… and under the sentence of death… which cannot and will NEVER have anything to do with God. The Bible says they that are in the flesh CANNOT please God. God won’t accept your flesh, no matter what it looks like, how great it puffs up to be, what it’s achieved, done, experienced, how well you’ve trained and tamed it. The Bible says in my flesh dwelleth no good thing.

So we need a change. And that change is a new creation, a new creature, born of God. God doesn’t overhaul. He creates a SEPARATE person in you. A new creature. Utterly sinless! Utterly perfect! We become partakers of the divine nature. We are not divine, we do not become God, we do not become Jesus… but we are transformed into his image. We should become Christlike if Christ is in us… no? If he dwells in our heart, how can his life not radiate from us? Read this… Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. There should be change. There should be power. There should be illumination, enlightenment, our thinking should change, who we are should change. Sure we were dead in sins, alienated from God, in fact enemies with God before we got  saved… but now we are made alive to God, quickened! In his kingdom! We should see the kingdom, and enter it, because that’s what the Spirit of God does… he causes us to see what we didnt see, hear what we didn’t hear. Suddenly we get it. What was foolish to us is now the wisdom of God… the cross of Christ that was like… MEH!!! is now the power and wisdom of God and our life. We were dead, but we died with Christ when we got born again, we were baptized into his death, burial… and resurrection… and we should live in resurrection power! We should bring forth fruit. Not our fruit, but his fruit. Once again, back to the vine, we just bare his fruit, it’s his fruit, we are just the branches. Boy, that takes some pressure off. His yoke is easy and his burden is light. So we just live life. And Christ in us is our reality. You see… when you are born again, you get a new NATURE. It’s not performance, it’s not self energy… its just a new nature. It’s who we are.

It just becomes a reality. It’s just who we are. It’s not self energy, we’re not trying to hold this whole thing up… trying to stay afloat, keep the fire burning. Kindle your own fire… and it WILL go out. We live, we walk with God by faith. We read our Bibles… we grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Or so we should. Unfortunately life is often a battle, we backslide, and instead of walking in the Spirit… we walk in the flesh… we walk according to our carnal mind. The Bible says if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. But we go our own way. We start well, but we quickly turn aside. We lose our way. Lost in Satan’s deception, swamped with garbage, with human philosophy and psychology, and vain traditions of men, the world, lust, pleasure. Choked out. Galatians 5:7 – Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? Galatians 3:3 – Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? So once we get born again, we need to read our Bible, to start growing, because we are spiritual babes, and the milk of the word and then the meat of the word is what we eat to grow. Yet so many Christians throw away the Bible… just like Samson threw away the jawbone that he got great victory with… and he became SORE athirst. Are you sore athirst? Famished for the word of God? But no, instead you have an appetite for the world, for lust, pleasure, for here and now, to get our designated portion of things we feel entitled to before we die… we need to check who we really are, what we really are. All of us.

And what kind of a blessing is it anyway? Life doesn’t feel very blessed. God blessed Rebekah with children, she was barren, but then she got twins. Wow, what a blessing. But they fought in the womb… and she said… If it be so, why am I thus? That sums life up. We are saved, we have such great and precious promises. Yet our life is flaming wreckage. Yet the fight is on! Misery, pain, suffering, storms of life roll in. We want to do good, but we can’t! We do evil instead! We are so hopeless. We have the struggle between the flesh and the Spirit which leaves us saying… as Paul said in Romans 7;24,25 – O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. God will and does sort us out. There are heaps of goats amongst the sheep… who is really in God’s kingdom and who isn’t? Life will tell. What’s really going of, is that reality there, of Jesus Christ in you? Are you SAVED? We all sin, we all have sinned… but is Christ in you, seeing you through to glory… is that reality and sincerity there… Proverbs 24:16 – For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. We need to also stop copping out on not being perfect… sure we aren’t, but Christ in us IS, and there should be evidences and fruit if we are truly saved. Stop excusing ourselves, repent, confess our sin, get right with God.

Romans 8:6 – For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. We can live in low lands and be brought low… we get out of fellowship and communion with Jesus and our life spirals. God tries our faith, he sees what we are truly made of. Life is a testing ground. Many stay in the wilderness. God saves you and doesn’t leave you there. He wants to bring you into the promised land. He saves you OUT to bring you IN. But people are saved out, but then go back to Egypt in their hearts as Israel did. It’s tough. The pulls of our lusts are strong, the allure of the world… it’s hard. Life is tough. But is Christ in you? Because he will take you in, just as Joshua did. You can’t go into the promised land in your flesh… in your own efforts, abilities, wherewithal. You can’t make it. You need Jesus, the captain of your salvation… the Lord of hosts. Is he in you, fighting your battles, enduring in you, whose strength is made perfect in your weakness? 2 Corinthians 4:16 – For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

So we do need a new nature. God doesn’t overhaul the old one. He’ll give you a new one. He says behold, I make all things new. This flesh is perishing and dying and sinful… Jesus said we must be born again.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. And we do that by being saved, by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. Placing our faith and trust in him, the blood of his cross, his sacrifice of himself in our place to atone for our sin. He is the only one whom God himself bare witness of and said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. We need him in us, his blood washing and cleansing us, shielding us from the wrath of Holy God, saving us from hell, providing forgiveness and atonement for our sins… or we are done, we don’t stand a chance. Cleave to him. Jacob struggled with the Lord, and would not let him go. Don’t let God go today. You may be struggling with life, unsure, uncertain… it’s time to wrestle with God, and don’t let him go until he blesses you. Until you know of your salvation, until you’ve made your calling and election sure, until you know things, until you’ve found and grabbed the truth. And once got it, hold to it, keep it. Abide in it, abide in him, and his word in you. Get in God’s word, search the scriptures. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. That is God’s will for YOUR life. He wants you to be saved, he will save you. He says come. And he won’t cast you out. And he’ll give you a new nature, he’ll come to you, and live inside you, he’ll make you spiritually alive, he’ll revive you, he’ll restore your soul, his Spirit in you, and he’ll transform your life, your thinking, everything you am and are… and you will enter into the kingdom and blessing and joy and peace and rest and love of the Lord.

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 32 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
