Tribute To Charlie Kirk
Psalm 11:2 “For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.”
It’s been a very sad time recently with the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Here in Australia it is amazing to see the number of Christians totally unaware of what this man has done, indifferent or in many cases even happy to see him dead.
This is a tribute to the fact they sit not under the preaching of God fearing men, but pulpits conquered by Jezebel and their sermons from the media which has educated them to hate righteous men.
I didn’t follow Charlie that closely, but I respected him enormously for his courage, bravery and for standing for truth in the public space, which not many have the conviction of in the first place, much less do it.
He owned Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and that was the basis and foundation for everything that followed. As a result he had a brightness and force of life which every child of God has.
The one thing that stands out for me was Charlie’s uprightness… he stood for what was right… and that’s why many people hated him…
… not because he was a hateful person, but because he was right.
He encouraged people to trust in Jesus Christ, live by the Bible, get married and have a family, that there was only two genders, to defend and honour his country. He taught there was objective truth based on calm rational thinking from the Bible and that angered a world so hostile to the Bible no end.
But even though dead in body, in many ways this already has and will yet end up having the opposite effect.
The very first upright man, a young man called Abel, gets murdered in the book of Genesis by his brother called Cain.
Was it because Abel did wrong? Or was it a measure of how dark Cains heart was?
We don’t need to guess, for we know the answer… “And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.”
How much you may dislike Charlie or any upright man or woman, it’s a measure not of them… but of you. You’d rather make them evil rather than own the evil within.
And the Bible says that it was when Abel was talking to Cain in the book of Genesis that the Bible says Cain rose up and slew him… and it’s for Charlie’s honest words that he is now taken from the earth.
In much the same way this is a tribute to Charlie’s true Christianity, for Jesus went this path before us all, but who’s steps we must follow if we are Christian, and we also will incur the same wrath of humanity who will refuse to do right themselves and hate those that are a reminder to their evil conscience of it.
… You may think Charlie lost. And it feels such an imbalance of justice.
… But remember back to Abel? That wasn’t the end of the story.
God says Abel still speaks and Charlie will still speak and his message has gained more traction and audience than ever before.
Jesus said in John 12:24 and 25
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”
“He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.”
This is Charlie’s legacy.
He wanted us to glorify Jesus Christ. But the Bible also says to give honour to whom it is due, and he is in that case.
To be able to leave this world for the next having left a testimony of uprightness in Christ Jesus and having been a loving father and having spoken with the enemies in the gate… that’s a wonderful legacy and will only shine more and more in time.
He was hated for his uprightness, he did live that Bible verse quoted at the start.. but it’s not the end of his story but rather the start.
For now there is much grief and challenges ahead for his wife and children and those close to him… but all of God’s promises remain yet true and our Saviour’s greatest victory was through the pathway of death, and is sovereign over death, and will work this out for good also, just wait and see.
Psalms 37:18 “The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.”

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 33 y/o Bible Blogger from Adelaide, South Australia. God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to share it with others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. And it’s Jesus Christ’s faith far more than my own! Because he is faithful. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and by God’s grace I anchor my soul to it. My destination is heaven. As they say, this world is not my home, I’m just a passin’ through… although most of the time I feel more like I’m hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports, I currently work on an orchard and one of my main hobbies/interests is growing vegetables. I love writing. I’m always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment on my blog or through email! My blog is inspired by Isaiah 2, and Isaiah’s vision of the last days when all nations will flow unto the Lord’s house, in a future time where everyone will love to hear God’s word and walk in light of Lord. And it is my hope that my blog will “strengthen the brethren” and “feed my sheep” as Jesus told Peter. Whether you visit once or regularly, I hope my blog is of some benefit to you on your journey of life! It’s a long journey, but with Christ you will make it to the other side.
