Believe IN The Lord!

Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.”

Just want to encourage every Christian to truly trust in the Lord. We are living in a time where many are falling out, falling into, falling for and falling away. And then all hope can seem lost…

There are many Christians who are “on the ropes” these days. And we all spend time there just barely staying in the fight while many others get clean knocked out the contest altogether. And it’s because faith, trust and hope has been misplaced.

… Believe in the Lord! What made Abraham special in the book of Genesis is not only that he believed the Lord… but he believed IN the Lord. He believed in God’s ability to do what he said.

The Bible says of Abraham’s faith in God’s word in Romans 4:21 “And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”

It’s not beyond you. Yes life is beyond all of us “the journey is too great for thee” but trusting God and his promises for life are not beyond you and nothing in life is beyond him and his power. His promise is greater than your problems.

There was nothing remarkable about Abraham in and of himself, and neither us, we are all fallen creatures as Abraham himself said to God that he himself was “but dust and ashes”…

But he did truly trust in God. …It may take many years or even a whole lifetime for us to truly start trusting and believing in the God we may even say and think we do believe in.

It was 38 years laying around waiting for a magical “moving” before the impotent man in John 5 finally and simply rose up from his sick bed in trust and obedience to the voice of Christ. It’s never going to just “happen”!!! today is the day to believe God.

Get up and make that step sooner than later! Because belief in anything else but God and his word and his ability to perform what he promised will always lead to “let down”. …You’ll only ever let yourself down and others you also.

If you believe in people, in programs, in peers, in anything else apart from the Lord Jesus Christ… you will be disappointed and despair inevitably… all while God says to trust him and believe in him.

God made quite a promise to Abraham in Genesis 12, a promise that took Abraham faaaaar beyond his limit but a promise that he followed and believed in… and even we he faltered, God still came through. Because at the end of the day the entire Christian faith rests in God’s power, not our own like we have any.

You will never be ashamed or look back with regret that you made the Lord God of the Bible and his promises your trust and hope.

Even when all seems lost, not only believe him, but believe IN him. People say “believe in me” and “believe in yourself”… but Abraham the father of faith didn’t… no he instead “And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” Believe IN the God of the promise!

Don’t believe in the circumstances or situation or impossibility, they are not God… believe in the Lord… he is God… and the impossibility and darkness you can and will face is nothing to him at all. “Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”

God can make your darkness shine, he can turn your life around and there is a Christian life out there which you can’t even conceive of and imagine in your head…

But it’s deep water. And as you follow Christ he will launch us out into places beyond our depth to show us finally that we could trust him and why did we ever doubt. Maybe you’re in deep waters now… believe in the Lord. Find his promises and claim them for your own, against all odds hang on, because he keeps his word!

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 33 y/o Bible Blogger from Adelaide, South Australia. God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to share it with others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. And it’s Jesus Christ’s faith far more than my own! Because he is faithful. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and by God’s grace I anchor my soul to it. My destination is heaven. As they say, this world is not my home, I’m just a passin’ through… although most of the time I feel more like I’m hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports, I currently work on an orchard and one of my main hobbies/interests is growing vegetables. I love writing. I’m always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment on my blog or through email! My blog is inspired by Isaiah 2, and Isaiah’s vision of the last days when all nations will flow unto the Lord’s house, in a future time where everyone will love to hear God’s word and walk in light of Lord. And it is my hope that my blog will “strengthen the brethren” and “feed my sheep” as Jesus told Peter. Whether you visit once or regularly, I hope my blog is of some benefit to you on your journey of life! It’s a long journey, but with Christ you will make it to the other side.
