Freedom In Christ
2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
Hello readers,
Yes I am alive! It’s been nearly two weeks since my last blog, I don’t usually take such long breaks between writing.
But… a lot has been going on in my life!
And it’s been a very spiritually rich time of my life, but as I sit down to write, I really have no idea what to particularly write about!
Today I was thinking about how people getting saved and right with God often makes a lot of other people upset and even angry.
I was thinking about how they tried making blind Bartimaeus shut up, then they were angry that Jesus saved Zaccheus… and what about after Lazarus was raised from the dead? Next chapter they were planning to kill him… poor guy! He’s just been dead… now they’re trying to make him dead again, because his rising from the dead, freedom, and living to glorify Christ has upset a whole lot of people!
And what about when Mary anoints the feet of Jesus… and they’re angry that she’s wasting ointment on Jesus?
And what about that colt, who Jesus told his disciples to loose, but who’s owners said “what do ye, loosing the colt?”
If you get in the salvation of souls business… God’s work… you’re quickly going to encounter opposition, and in ways and from people you may not expect.
As a Christian, expect opposition… when God moves, Satan moves also to resist… just read Zechariah 3:1. And if Satan could have sifted Peter as wheat, if he had a man on the inside in the upper room, if he can appear as an angel of light and his ministers and ministers of righteousness… yeah… and if he’s a wily subtle crafty serpent… he can find ways in to oppose that we would never expect.
And so this opposition can come from very unlikely sources. People you thought were Christian may oppose you. In fact many will, because most professing Christians these days don’t want to truly follow Christ, and want to keep other Christians where they are at with them.
In the book of Nehemiah, Nehemiah came back to take on the great work of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem… but then guess what “When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.” People weren’t happy!
And then I’ve been thinking about true freedom in Christ. Christ came to set people free “he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound”
Legalism isn’t freedom. Nor is lasciviousness. You can’t be free living in sin. And you can’t be free living in dead religion either. Hopefully you know the freedom of indwelling of the Spirit of Christ. Are you born again? Not are you baptized… not do you go to church… not this… not that… are you saved? Does Jesus dwell in your heart by faith? Are you right with God?
Jesus said he came to give us life… and to give it more abundantly. Many people do not have life, and do not want others to have it either. But Jesus wants it for each one of us. We should not be afraid or envious or upset to see people set free in Jesus Christ.
I really just want to pray for every Christian reading this, that God would protect and preserve and keep you… he is the good Shepherd, but the way is narrow… there are not many people on the narrow way that leads to life.
The whole point of my blog is the salvation of souls and the edification of Christians. I can’t live off your spirituality, and you can’t live off mine. I point you to the word of God for yourself, and try to expound it on here for many years to help you get into it for yourself.
Dare to read just the Bible, the Bible alone, and do it without commentaries… let God speak to you. Clear your schedule so you can tune into his still, small voice. I want each of my readers to follow Christ for themselves. Get in the book, get to know Jesus for yourself!
Yes there is a place for helps, and God does use people, and I’ve benefited enormously from other Christians in my life. But this blog aims to produce followers of Christ, not followers of me. And I want to see you set free, free to follow God “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.”
There are not many Christians who are truly free. Most are owned by sin or works or whatever… most have not been liberated like that colt was to glorify Christ with their lives. To have Christ sit where no man ever sat. You will only ever be fulfilled in a right relationship with Christ. I hope you have a great weekend, and God bless you dear reader!

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 33 y/o Bible Blogger from Adelaide, South Australia. God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to share it with others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. And it’s Jesus Christ’s faith far more than my own! Because he is faithful. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and by God’s grace I anchor my soul to it. My destination is heaven. As they say, this world is not my home, I’m just a passin’ through… although most of the time I feel more like I’m hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports, I currently work on an orchard and one of my main hobbies/interests is growing vegetables. I love writing. I’m always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment on my blog or through email! My blog is inspired by Isaiah 2, and Isaiah’s vision of the last days when all nations will flow unto the Lord’s house, in a future time where everyone will love to hear God’s word and walk in light of Lord. And it is my hope that my blog will “strengthen the brethren” and “feed my sheep” as Jesus told Peter. Whether you visit once or regularly, I hope my blog is of some benefit to you on your journey of life! It’s a long journey, but with Christ you will make it to the other side. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
God used this blog to convict me. At times, I avoid getting closer to God and I keep asking Him to give me a new and clean heart. To give me a fear of Him. Please continue writing and continue sharing your knowledge and journey iof salvation.
