An Issue That Runs And Runs… And Runs

Leviticus 15:1 – And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying,

Leviticus 15:2 – Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean.

Leviticus 15:3 – And this shall be his uncleanness in his issue: whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh be stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness.

Mark 5:25 – And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

Mark 5:26 – And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

Mark 5:27 – When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Mark 5:28 – For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

Mark 5:29 – And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

Hey all, new blog day time. Talking about sin today. Because sin is the problem we all have. We may not see it, or recognize it, but at the heart of all issues of life is sin. Sin not dealt with will ruin your life, and culminate in an eternity in hell. It will take you down and down. Sin doesn’t always even  appear bad, but it produces death, practically, physically, spiritually. Sin was always the problem, from early childhood, it got strongholds, it took ground, it twisted, corrupted, changed us, and affected our whole life.

In the Bible, sin is pictured as leprosy, it is pictured as leaven. The Bible provides pictures of things so we can understand them better. We like picture books, well the Bible is a picture book, and through these pictures and images we understand the person and work of Jesus and all issues of life, what they are and how to deal with them. Why is sin pictured as leaven in the Bible? Because it starts small, and then fills the whole loaf. Sin starts from a young age. We were conceived and born in sin, we all descend from Adam who sinned, and it is passed from generation to generation, and sin got in, it started, and left untreated, uncured, unaddressed, it grows and fills and spreads into our life. Sin is our running issue. In Leviticus 15 we see the law of the running issue. It may be a difficult chapter to understand, but it is showing us about sin, how sin is a “running issue”, and if you think about those words and read the Bible and ask God for wisdom, he will show you what it is teaching you. The running issue is from the flesh, and our fleshly nature is sinful, and it runs with sin and more sins. If you look back at your life you’ll see that your sin literally ran and ran from your flesh, and when it wasn’t treated, dealt with, addressed, it just kept pervading your life, and ruining it. It was against God at it’s core.

Sin is our issue. There was a woman in the Bible who had an issue of blood. It was only when she met Jesus that her issue was staunched, that the fountain of her blood was cleansed. We need our fountain cleansed. Because unless the deep of our heart is fixed, all the issues that come from it will continue. You put one fire out, another starts. The problem starts in the heart of man. Which is desperately wicked and deceitful. And the issues keep running and running. You look at a life spent in sin and you’ll see that the sin ran and ran and festered and kept spewing out and manifesting destructively and pervasively. Because all our problems are deep inside, they come from deep in the heart, we are uncircumcised in heart, and sin covers us, and vexes, attacks, assaults, destroys our soul. Sin is a slow death, inside. We feel ourselves going further and further into the mire, a journey deeper and deeper into the blackness of darkness.

Why is uncircumcision a picture of sin? Well without going into details, it covers us, we are born in sin, we are born in the curse, we have that issue. When we are born again spiritually we become circumcised. God cuts us free from our sin and creates a new being in us. All the Old Testament is understood by us today from a spiritual perspective. Yes it’s literally true. But the church is a spiritual body. The Bible says we are blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. So we look at the miracles, the stories, the events of the Old Testament and understand that it is teaching us many spiritual truths. It also teaches us practical truths. It is of infinite use to the believer, hence if we study it we are wise and able to deal with all issues of life, as the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:15-17 – And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. God today is working to save people, there may not be great physical signs and wonders that people are looking for, and in looking for that is how the antichrist will deceive the whole world, through lying signs and wonders that make people go wow. But the important thing today is to get saved, to be cleansed inside. What is it going to profit you if you are physically healed, or if you see a physical miracle……. yet never get saved and go to hell???

Sin is the problem. It is the number one ministry of the Holy Ghost to this wicked world. He reproves the world of sin. Jesus said Repent and Believe the gospel. A salvation without repentance of sin is not a salvation. A salvation without having being saved from sin, both now and in the future is not a salvation. A gospel without repentance of sin and believing in and obeying the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is a false gospel. After all Jesus’ name means “he shall save his people from their sins”. That’s why he came. He didn’t come to give you a new car, or to meet all your physical needs (although he will take care of that as a loving God), he came to save you from your sin. That is man’s number one and ETERNAL need. The spiritual work he does in you is what will remain, your physical state changes, we die, we don’t physically take anything out of this world!!! But what is taken out of this world to the next is what you did with Christ!!! If you don’t want or need saving from your sin, then you don’t need Jesus, then you never had him.

Sin is the running issue of our lives. We all look back at our lives, our sorry existences, and realize it was sin that was the problem. It was never repented of, never fixed, never cured, never cleansed, never forgiven, and thus it ran and ran and ran and ran… just like your nose runs when you’re sick, you dab it, but it keeps running. It’s not until your body defeats the virus or cold that the nose stops running. We dab and dab and dab, but what we need fixed is the root issue… and that is sin. Left untreated it’ll run and render you unclean and you’ll live unclean and ruin your and others lives. And even if you “stop” and you’re not cleansed from it, it’s still not fixed! People today stop their sins, they “grow up” but their sin was never dealt with. They were never cleansed from sin. They never got right with God and thus with man. How you are to God is how you will be to fellow man. If you love God you will love man. If you hate God, you will hate man. True love arises from the love of God being in you, having received his love first, which then transforms our love to others. Sin festers and putrifies, and spreads. It makes us unclean, it brings cursing into our life, and then it affects those around us as well. Sin must be dealt with at the core. Truth must be acknowledged, sin must be confessed. The issue must be staunched, and not just stopped, but forgiven, washed, cleansed, made right. And then our lives will be changed and blessing from God will replace cursing and death and bitterness. Jesus said, Repent and believe the gospel. The running issues of your life and my life that ran and ran for years, even when we didn’t see it running is what has destroyed our lives, which has produced such enmity with and alienation to God, which has set us on the course of the fires of hell… we all must get right with God through Jesus Christ, get honest about our sin, and get our sin dealt with at the cross. He nailed those sins to his cross, so we must come to him for ourselves and be willing to repent and be cleansed by Jesus Christ. For his name’s sake.

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 32 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)

    • Thanks for your comment John, the Bible is 100% right. Here’s some verses…

Romans 1:24 – Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Romans 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Galatians 5:19 – Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

      Ephesians 5:3 – But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

1 Thessalonians 4:7 – For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

The Bible has a lot to say about uncleanness. These verses are crystal clear. Uncleanness is a work of the flesh. It is the opposite of holiness. It’s not of faith, and the Bible says whatsoever is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23). When you had a running issue under Old Testament law, you were unclean. We all have issues. And those issues run and run, and render us unclean… not holy, not sanctified, not fit for the master’s use.

Unbelief is a running issue for many of us in our lives, it’s in our flesh to doubt, disobey and dispute God’s word, and unbelief will plague your entire life and make you very unclean. This world rejects Jesus Christ, they don’t believe in him, they don’t believe on him, and that’s why this world lies in wickedness. All our flesh can produce is uncleanness. The running issue is teaching us about sin, what sin produces, where our sin comes from (our flesh), and points us to how and who can make us clean.

      Thanks, Joseph.
