Firstly, I would like to say that I hope all my readers have a happy safe Christmas and a wonderful new year ahead.
Been flat out past few weeks! More blogs are coming so hang in there! Would like to say thank you to everyone who reads my blogs. I hope they have been useful and helpful in some way to you. The purpose of the blogs is to practically lift up the Lord Jesus Christ. It is all glory to Jesus. Jesus himself said that if he was lifted up he would draw all men unto him. So practically, this blog seeks to lift up the Lord Jesus Christ. And Jesus said to Nicodemus, as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. Well, Israel was rebellious, and stiff necked, and hard hearted, and God sent fiery serpents among them, and they all were dying and would die… but God also gave a solution, he got Moses to make a bronze serpent and to hold it up, and whoever looked upon it would be healed and live. Look and live. And at Christmas time we look to the Lord Jesus Christ, yep it is about his birth, but remember that his birth was the beginning, it was for something, he was born into this world, God born into this world as a human to die for us and to save us from our sins.
We remember the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. And he is the Lord. Jesus. Christ. Lord exalts him as over us, over me… as God. He is not a lord, he is THE LORD. Jesus is God, he is King of kings and Lord of lords. Jesus’ name means he will save his people from their sins, and Jesus is Lord yes, but he also came to save us from our sins. His birth was important, but his birth was God entering his creation in the flesh with the purpose of going to the cross and dying for the sins of mankind and redeeming all who would believe on his name from the curse, the penalty, the power and the presence of sin. Christ means anointed one, and he was the one that humankind waited for from the very beginning, Jesus Christ was and is distinct from everyone and everything else, and he was shown and proven to be who he said he was and who others said he was. It all pointed and points to him. He is the Christ. And he is alive today, he rose from the dead and is seated at the right hand of the Father today, and the next thing we have is his promise… Behold, I come quickly… and even so come Lord Jesus. He is the Lord Jesus Christ.
I do hope my readers have had a great 2017. I hope you all have a great Christmas and end of year and that God will bless you and reveal himself to you. If you want to get to know him better, it is time to start reading and obeying the Bible. Many people today claim they love God and follow Jesus, and yet they despise his word. It doesn’t add up. Furthermore Jesus said he that hears his word and does it, that is the person that loves him. It just takes simple faith. As the LORD, we should yield to his voice. It’s better to now, rather than when it is too late. Remembering faith is ACTION, faith is reading, hearing and doing. It’s not enough to be a hearer of the word, we must be doers, that seed of the word must not fall by the wayside, be devoured or choked out… does it find good soil in our hearts?
You can’t know God but through Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ is the image of God. We have no conception, or comprehension, or relationship with God without Jesus Christ, he IS God and he is God revealed to mankind. In him dwelleth ALL the fullness of the Godhead bodily… the Bible says that in Colossians. If you reject Jesus you will never know or see God. If you reject his word you are rejecting him. He is the Word of God. How can you love him but hate and disobey and reject what he is saying to you? And if you want to get to know God better, we need to start trusting and obeying. Because the Bible promises that he will manifest himself to us. This is not teaching works based salvation, we are saved by grace through faith alone, but if we are truly saved we will love Jesus and live a life reflecting that, that reflects the Holy Spirit in us, if we are truly saved there will be change, because salvation is a new creation, a new creature born of God, sinless, and which the wicked one cannot touch (we read in 1 John)! If you love Jesus and obey him, he will manifest himself to you. John 14:21 – He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
