Psalm 106:37 – Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils.

Today I will be talking about sacrificing unto devils. It is not an easy subject, it is very confronting. We do not like to be confronted by God with our sin. If you do not have a truth loving heart, you will despise the truth, because it is so exposing and revealing. When the light of God’s word shines into the darkness of our hearts we will either accept and come or reject and scuttle for cover. Most reject God’s light, most prefer the kingdom of darkness. The Bible is often called outdated, archaic, irrelevant today. Yet it is the most up to date book in the world. Because it is more than ink on paper, it is spirit. The Bible is how you test the spirits, compare spiritual things – because God’s words are spirit, just as Jesus said his words were spirit and life. The heavens and the earth were spoken into being in the beginning. 2 Peter says that the heavens and the earth are kept in store by the the word of God. And because the word of God is eternal, it is timeless, it can never be outdated or superseded. It applies to us as much as it applied 10, 100, 1000 years ago. It will stand for eternity. You will be in heaven or hell, and it will be the same, yesterday, today and forever. The word is what will judge you. What does the Bible say? This is how God has spoken to us. We are without excuse, God’s word is available to you today. You will be judged by the book. The word will save or condemn you depending on what you do with it. What will you do with Jesus in this life?

We humans have a tendency to think that we are so much better and above our predecessors. This is what evolution teaches, the advancement and progression of mankind. Ape to human. Ignorant to intelligent. More and more advanced. More and more civilized. More and more enlightened. Journey to the higher calling and awareness. Evolution appeals to the pride of the human heart. Evolution itself is absurd, do you really think you came from an ape? If evolution is true and life is all about survival of the fittest, getting your genes to the next generation, what is really wrong with rape and murder? Evolution is the age old appeal that Satan made to us back in the garden of Eden, and the appeal which causes us to fall today. Pride. Ye shall be as gods. We can think of Adam and Eve, and think that if we were there, that we wouldn’t have fallen, we would have done better. But we fall today just as Adam and Eve fell, we show our desire to be as gods when we are doing that which is right in our own eyes. When we disobey God. Satan murdered us in the beginning, he is a murderer, he wants to murder you, he has murdered us. We are dead in our trespasses and sins before we are saved. Spiritually dead. Our only hope is the resurrection that is in Christ, the resurrection unto life. Spiritual resurrection. This is what being born again is, being resurrected by the Spirit of God. We live because he lives.In Judges it says that everyone did that which was right in his own eyes. How up to date is that! Does that not describe society today? History is repeating itself. Learn from the Bible. You are without excuse.

Before the children of Israel went into the promised land they were warned by God not to do as the heathen did, not to go after their gods, not to do as they did. But the children of Israel fell into that. They fell again and again. They went astray. They forsook God. They turned aside. They turned truth into lie. The children of Israel ended up sacrificing their own children to false gods, to devils. This is so shocking, and you may be appalled and think that you could never do that. Is all this applicable today? Is our society past the days of child sacrifice? Are we better than the children of Israel all those years ago?

Take the abortion clinics, where countless numbers of children have been killed. Aborted because their mothers and fathers are inconvenienced by their existence. Aborted because they do not fit into their parents plans. Aborted because they were a mistake. Innocent children that pay the price for parents sinful lusts and lifestyles. People will say, but what of abortions because of rape and abuse? The vast majority are not for this reason, God knows each individual situation, and is merciful to those who have chosen this path under extreme circumstances. Those who have been abused, taken advantage of, who are desperate and alone. God is merciful. Jesus said in John 7:24 – Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. It is not my job to judge you, it is God that judges you, he judges me. If God’s word condemns you, then that’s between you and God. I can’t save you, I can’t change you, I have no authority in and of myself to judge you. What God says through his word is what judges you and me. We are all condemned, we all need to be saved, we all need to be forgiven. Sinful humanity is always groping for some excuse that makes our sin feel more justified. Instead of looking at others to try and rationalize our sin, look each at ourselves. You will stand before God and give account, and don’t think you will be able to pull the wool over the eyes of the Holy Judge of the Universe. And evil does not justify evil. If you have done wrong, or come from a bad situation, this does not give you an excuse to do evil to others. Sure, this may sound easier than it actually is. Take the example of Japheth, take the example of Jabez. Jabez caused his mother much sorrow in his birth, this is why he was called Jabez. His name was a constant reminder of this. But Jabez’s name did not determine his life, his past did not dictate his future. 1 Chronicles 4:10 – And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

The Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil. And money is at the root of the abortion industry. Financial gain. Personal gain. Selfishness and self interest.The children of Israel sacrificed their children in the hope that the gods would increase their finances through causing rich harvests, fertility, prosperity. Instead of looking to God, who gives salvation, blessings, gifts freely, they turned after the gods of the people of the land, to Moloch, to Baal, to the devils which are really behind all this. This is what the children of Israel did back then, and this is what people are doing today. The life of a parent is a life of sacrifice. Any parent will know this. A parent will make great sacrifices for his or her child. A loving parent sacrifices their time, their pleasures, their needs, their wants in the interests of their child. Or the parent can sacrifice the child and live for himself/herself. This is what we are doing when we give our children to the world, just like Pharaoh ordered all the Hebrew boys to be cast into the Nile River. We can not only physically sacrifice our children to devils, but we can do it spiritually. Sending them to public schools where they are taught that God is a liar, where their mind is indoctrinated with worldly philosophy and religion. Have you cast your child into the Nile River?

This is not only for parents. We can sacrifice unto devils today. We can dedicate our life in the pursuit of vain glory, our lusts, our pleasures, our advancement. The vanity of this world, this life. Vanity which the devils are able to deceive us into pursuing. Our life dedicated to such is a worthless sacrifice, just as worthless as the blood of the prophets of Baal who leaped upon the altar and cut themselves in vain hoping for an answer of fire from their false god, a devil. When Abram returned from the slaughter of the kings of Genesis, the king of Sodom met him, and said, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. This is exactly what a sacrifice to the devil looks like. This is what Satan and his devils want. They want souls, and will promise material gain, or whatever your fleshly heart so desires. Will you exchange your soul for physical gain? Satan will make you an offer today. Give me your soul in exchange for this and that. What is sad is that what Satan offers is always a lie. You will pursue riches and pleasures, but they will elude you, and if you get them, you will find out too late how empty, temporary and worthless they are. We entered this world with nothing, and we are taking nothing to the next world. This is why wisdom is so important and precious, this is why the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.But what Satan takes from you, what he robs of you, is real, and eternal. Will you be joining him in the lake of fire?

Are you sacrificing unto devils? Devils rule this world, and Satan is the ruler of the devils. Serving this world? You are serving devils. Your life is dictated to and run by devils who will destroy your life, rob your blessings, cheat you of salvation, whose end is the lake of fire and want you to join them in that hopeless eternal state. Ephesisans 6:12 – For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Is your life a sacrifice unto devils or a sacrifice unto God? You are either serving Satan or serving God. It is one or the other. Do you have spiritual eyes to see that the devils are what are behind and driving this evil world system? Do not sacrifice yourself, your children, your soul to devils. It will not be worth it. No matter how alluring the offer, no matter how tempting the enticement. The sacrifice of God, his Son, Jesus Christ is the sacrifice that matters above all else. Sacrifice is such an important principle of the Bible. This is why Jesus is called the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! After we are saved through the substitutionary, sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are instructed to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice, not to pay for sin or earn salvation, but as our reasonable service toward God. A life not dedicated to ourselves, but to our Father, who is in heaven. A sacrifice that will be worth it, all because of the sacrifice of his Son, whose blood alone is worthy. Blessings are in Jesus. Eternal life is in Jesus. In no other. The devils take, the Son gives. The devils rob and wound and kill. The Son gives eternal life and gives it freely. The Son gives abundant life. Who do you choose? The devils, or the Lord Jesus Christ? And it is the Lord Jesus Christ who wins. The devils go to the lake of fire, and it is the Lord Jesus Christ who will put them there. He is victorious. He is worth it.
