The Bible Answers!

Recent update 10/6/2019: I last updated this 4 years ago! Time has flown by! I hoped to keep adding to this but have failed thus far! If you ever have a question I’d be happy to answer it by looking at what the Bible says – the Bible has wisdom on every topic, it is the book of life and has the answers to life… and Jesus ultimately is the answer. What is the evidence? Jesus is the evidence. What is the truth? Jesus is the truth. What is the way? Jesus is the way. He is the life, and his word are the words of life. When Jesus asked his disciples if they would also go away as many others did because they were offended at Jesus… they said “to whom else shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.” It’s true, the answers to life, the wherewithal, everything lies in Jesus Christ. Go to him, start at the cross, and he promises to save you and reveal himself to you. Need wisdom? Ask. Need salvation? Ask. He is faithful and true. God bless 🙂

Statement: I’m not going to be saved because I don’t like what I see people who call themselves Christians doing.

Bible Response: 2 Peter 2:1,2 – But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. Matthew 23:13 – But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Matthew 7:21-23 – Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Statement: There is no God.

Bible Response: Psalms 14:1-3 – The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Statement: I have not sinned, I have lived a good, clean life, I am a good person. God would be unjust to send me to hell.

Bible Response: Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. 1 John 1:8 – If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:10 – If we say that we have no sinned, we make him a liar and his word is not in us. Isaiah 64:6 – But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Statement: Who cares, I’m going to do whatever I want.

Bible Response: Romans 14:12 – So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Galatians 6:7 – Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Revelation 20:12 – And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20:15 – And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Statement: I’ll make my own way to heaven, there are many ways to heaven anyway.

Bible Response: John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Statement: Who’s to say your God is the real God?

Bible Response: Isaiah 45:5 –  I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me. 1 John 5:20 – This is the true God, and eternal life.

Statement: It’s God’s fault the way the world is, all the pain, sickness, suffering, death.

Bible Response: Genesis 2:16,17 – And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 3:6 – And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.1 Corinthians 15:21,22 – For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Statement: I am going to heaven because I was baptized once, I go to church at Easter and Christmas time, and I’ve done a lot of good things in my life.

Bible Response: Ephesians 2:8,9 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. John 3:7 – Ye must be born again.

Statement: I am interested in getting saved, but am too busy at the moment, I’ll do it later.

Bible Response: James 4:14 – Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. John 7:6 – Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready. Luke 12:20 – But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 2 Corinthians 6:2 – (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) Acts 26:28 – Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. Acts 17:32 – And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

  1. I have a question.
I have been more into my bible study this year than ever before, I feel I was delivered from my sin and though it took me a while I stopped smoking cigarettes, drinking each weekend, and started really reading Gods word. Only thing was covid hit so I am not a member of any church and fear that it may not be possible during these times. i was also raised catholic so the church my parents go to is catholic and i have some doubts about the catholic church.
I have dishonored my mother and father in the past and they are such amazing parents they forgave me every time. Upon find Jesus i begged my mother and brother for forgiveness for the person i used to be.
I have been trying to find a bible study or a community to belong to. I found a bible study a few months ago just three of us. And suddenly the teacher had some family issues that she couldnt continue bible study. So i sought out two more in hopes that if one fell through the other would continue. We had our first meeting and on the second meeting the bible study for friday was cancelled due to family emergency. The bible study for saturday was not just cancelled the person completely ghosted me which made me very depressed.
I worry that God is saying its too late for me. That I am too wretched of a person to be saved, now that I know its the end times now I come crawling to Jesus.
I dont know what to make of it. In my distress I sinned again.
then i stopped myself from sinning and decided to turn to the bible and read Jesus’ words and it lead me to matthew 15:30 I worried after reading it for sure I am a weed and not a wheat….i must be thrown away I am not worthy.
I read before that and after hoping there was something in how to help me know if I am weed or wheat.
Then I read about dishonoring your mother and father that you will surely die. And I thought of all the times I dishonored them, all the times I thought they were evil, when really they are such good people and never deserved that kind of behavior from me. Even though I am sorry I cannot make up for a life well wasted filled with hate, bitterness, envy and anger.
My life is not over so I can still say I am sorry, I can still repent, I can still humble myself before them which I have to say I am so sorry.
I want a new heart in me because i hate my life, my old life. and I thought maybe that that was what was happening. not craving cigarettes, not craving alcohol, diligently studying Gods word. Then I get ghosted by a bible study teacher and I got so depressed. I felt the pieces of the old me want to pop up in my mind and in my heart and I told my mom. I pray that what has happened is just a test and it doesnt mean i am a lost cause. I pray that the teacher did not ghost and that he is okay and that God is taking care of him and watching over him.
Is God protecting the teacher from teaching me or is He protecting me from being a bad weed that will poison his wheat?
I am just not sure and I am so sad.

    • Hello Jess, thanks for your comment. All I know is that Jesus said to that woman caught in adultery “Go and sin no more”. All we can do is start from today. Today is the day of salvation. Yes we make a mess of our lives going our own way. Jesus came to rescue those lost sheep gone astray, and truth is, we all were as sheep going astray. He came for the lost sheep.

Look, we all are hell deserving sinners. If our salvation was based on our performance in any way, than we’d all be going to hell. The catholic church as a system has many doctrines that are unBiblical. They teach and do things which are wrong. But it sounds like you have great parents. Great parents who you have taken for granted. If you think you’ve taken your earthly parents for granted, how much more so your heavenly father if you are saved? In truth, we often treat our heavenly Father’s grace, longsuffering, mercy, love, kindness, patience with utter disdain and contempt.

Salvation is this. Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. We are all the chiefest of sinners. If you have repented of your sin, that is, if you see you are a hell deserving unworthy lost wicked sinner guilty before God… and if you want to be saved from that sin, and if you turned to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and deliverance from that sin, then he promises in his word to save you. He saves us from the penalty of sin (hell), the power of sin (that’s sin controlling and mastering our lives), and ultimately the presence of sin (in the future when we are set free from this sin cursed body and it’s sinful fleshly nature).

True belief produces true change. Our change is not based on our flesh suddenly getting better, you know, that same old flesh which wants the cigarettes and alcohol and hatred and bitterness… no, our change is based on the fact that when we believe Jesus gives us his Holy Spirit, he creates a new creature in us, perfect, sinless, born of God. That’s being called born again. If you are born again, you will know it. There will be a new person in you who seeks and desires and loves God and his word. There will be light where there was darkness, knowledge where there was deceit, wisdom where there was foolishness, righteousness where there was constant iniquity. It’s Gods work, you can’t work that up, that happens when you truly believe on him.

Stop wallowing in your sin and worrying about others and take care of what you can take care of. Get right with who you need to get right with. If you truly get right with God, then the rest of your life God will sort out. It may not fix consequences of past sin, but you can have a clean conscience and a clean heart and a right spirit to go forth with into the rest of your life. Turn your eyes to Jesus Christ, second by second, day by day, month by month, year by year. Faithful is he that calleth you who also will do it. He is the author and finisher of our faith. We can’t start it, and we can’t finish it. It’s Jesus Christ all the way. You know, salvation is a pretty good deal. We swap our sinful rebellious cursed lives for Jesus Christ’s forgiveness, righteousness and life. That’s why we all can only ever say… To him be the glory forever, Amen.

  2. Hi Jess, an allegory that has helped me lots on my journey is The Pilgrim’s Progress, by John Bunyan,

When you are a young Christian “earnestly desire the pure and undefiled Word of God”. Whatever bad examples or incorrect representations other Christians may be, we are all prone to do what the Apostle Paul referred to when he said the words,

Romans 7:19 KJV — For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

I pray you find the right fellowship of believers who will encourage you in the Lord and lead you to yearn to follow Jesus all the more passionately yourself.

  3. Jesus states in John 14:15 “If you love Me keep my commandments.”
The 4th commandment says “Remember the Sabbath Day….”
Is that Saturday the 7th day or is it Sunday the first day?

    • Hello Mike, thank you for the comment. The Sabbath day is the last day of the week, our Saturday, and Sunday is the first day of the new week. Christians met on the first day of the week, and they did so because Christ rose on the first day of the week.

Sabbath keeping “as the Jews did” is not required of New Testament believers. We are not Jews, and in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek. We have been set free from the bondage of the law, as that law was designed to bring us to saving faith in Christ.

Additionally, we should keep every day holy and the principle of a day of rest is actually very good for us and with a view to the future rest that awaits the children of God and the nation of Israel.

  4. In John 14:15 Jesus states “If you love me keep my commandments”

The 4th commandment states “Remember the Sabbath day…”
Is that Saturday, the 7th day or is it Sunday the 1st day?

  5. Thank you, Joseph, for your answer to my question. “Christians met on the first day of the week, and they did so because Christ rose on the first day of the week.”
Can you give me a Bible verse supporting your answer?

    • Sure, Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2.

What is important to know though is that you can have church whatever day you want. Our worship is not defined by where we are and what day we meet.

Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
