It’s All Been Taken Care Of
1 Samuel 9:3 “And the asses of Kish Saul’s father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.”
… (Samuel speaking to Saul) …
1 Samuel 9:20 “And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father’s house?”
Hello readers, just a short mid week blog, I am typing on Thursday night after a long day! I saw something pretty cool in the Bible probably a month back and it was something God showed me to reassure me at an important time in my life.
Quite a bit has happened in my life in the last year, and also this year, and it is all very exciting, and after my woes of last year and my trouble with the darkness of doubt, disillusionment and despair, God has somehow managed to work some things in my life which I can only give him glory for.
Enough about me though, I am hoping this thought from God’s word could be as big a blessing and comfort to you as it was to me!
My thought comes from an interesting place in the Bible, from the story of Samuel and Saul, and how Saul came to be king as found in 1 Samuel 9.
Saul starts as a nothing and a nobody, (it’s when I like him the most!) … and one day “God finds him, not he finds God”.
I say that because in my life I’ve kind of been looking for a few things, and then they end up finding me far more than I find them… if that makes sense.
Maybe you’re looking for something in life, I don’t know what it could be, everyone has different desires, needs, and wants… but you’re thinking it’s on you to find it… and you can’t!
Saul never found the lost asses of his father that he was looking for… they were found for him.
If you don’t know the story, Saul’s story starts with his dad sending him out to recover some lost asses. And in that process, Samuel finds him with news he would never have imagined or expected as God went far above and beyond some lost asses in his life.
You see… we may be looking for abc… but God will give us abcdedfghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz1234567890 if we will just trust him and look to him.
The key to finding what we are looking for is not our searching for it and trying to get it… it’s going to God… as Saul and his servant did when they thought hey, we can’t find them, let’s go to the prophet and see if God can help us out.
And Saul got more news than he could have ever bargained for!
God will go above and beyond in your life, just trust in him.
I know it’s easy to say, I know you can’t see it yet… but Saul couldn’t see his lost asses yet, and yet he wasn’t just going to get the asses back, God had made him king of his people!
And that’s not the thing that blessed me the most about this chapter… it’s the thought that “it’s all taken care of”.
If you trust God, God will take care of things for you that you can’t and in a way that you can’t do it. When Samuel met Saul and went through the process of informing him of God’s amazing will for his life… he told him that those lost asses were found. Don’t worry about them, they’re all taken care of!
What a lovely touch from God. And I hope this lovely touch is yours in your life… even if not quite yet… even if all of God’s promises seem so far off, yet they are right on time.
You know, God’s taken care of so many things for us already. He took care of our sin problem… Jesus came to earth two thousand years ago… your and my sins have already been paid for long ago! And truthfully, God had taken care of them before the world even began because the Bible says Jesus was “slain from the foundation of the world”.
Your salvation is already taken care of! All you need to do is receive it and enjoy it. And all of God’s promises in him also are yea and amen.
Maybe you’re waiting and hoping on God to “enlarge my coast” as Jabez prayed… God is able to not just answer that prayer, but go far above and beyond in answering it… and maybe that will take time I don’t know… but remember God is orchestrating a lot of moving parts!
There were a lot of moving parts here in this chapter… and yet God was sovereign in them all. It was all taken care of for Saul, he became king without having to do a thing. The true rest in Christ is in letting him perform what he has promised, and yes faith is a fight, and there are things we each need to obey him in… but at the end of it all, every child of God will see for themselves that it truly was God all along.
God bless you for the rest of the week!
Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
Ephesians 3:21 “Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 33 y/o Bible Blogger from Adelaide, South Australia. God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to share it with others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. And it’s Jesus Christ’s faith far more than my own! Because he is faithful. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and by God’s grace I anchor my soul to it. My destination is heaven. As they say, this world is not my home, I’m just a passin’ through… although most of the time I feel more like I’m hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports, I currently work on an orchard and one of my main hobbies/interests is growing vegetables. I love writing. I’m always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment on my blog or through email! My blog is inspired by Isaiah 2, and Isaiah’s vision of the last days when all nations will flow unto the Lord’s house, in a future time where everyone will love to hear God’s word and walk in light of Lord. And it is my hope that my blog will “strengthen the brethren” and “feed my sheep” as Jesus told Peter. Whether you visit once or regularly, I hope my blog is of some benefit to you on your journey of life! It’s a long journey, but with Christ you will make it to the other side. Encouraging. The way the Lord blesses the path of a believer is seen in the hoofprints of some runaway donkeys!
