Change Is Coming

Job 14:13 – O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

Job 14:14 – If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

Job 14:15 – Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.

Hello readers, hope you’re having a good week. We’ve had some hotter days of late, so takes a bit of getting used to! I just have a quick thought from Job’s life, a number of my recent blogs have been from Job, because I am enjoying reading through the book.

The situation is that Job has lost all his children, his business, his dignity, his status, his health. Job is going through a trial of his faith, he’s in the storm. And maybe you are going through a hard time. But Job said he was waiting until his change came. Just as he was waiting for his change, guess what, the change is coming for you to.

You ever been outside when the weather changes? David one day waited until the weather changed. And when it changed, he heard the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees. God had said do not go and fight the Philistines until you hear that sound. Maybe you’re waiting for that sound of your change. You’re waiting for God to get going, because you’re in a position that requires him to make the change, or it ain’t changing. Job was waiting for God to bring his change. And maybe you’re waiting for God to make a change in your situation and circumstance of life. Many things are beyond us, and we can only wait for our change.

I’ve been outside when the weather has changed many times, because I work outside, and a change is something to behold. You can have a sunny hot day, and over on the horizon you see a cloud coming, or you start to feel a breeze. I’ve been outside when the rain change has come over, and on a hot day, when the clouds come over with a cool breeze, there is nothing like it

Job had been living in a nightmare. And maybe you’re in your own nightmare. Maybe something has happened to you, maybe you are in dire straits, and all you’ve got is hope that God will change it. Well guess what, the change is coming.

Job’s suffering was only for a set time, God’s appointed time. And in that, God was doing with that brief trial something that is priceless and forever. We don’t read much about Job when he had it good, but we read a ton about him going through his trial. Because odds are, the most important parts of your life won’t be the fun times and the easy times, but the hard times, the times where your life was pressed out of measure, where you felt it couldn’t get worse, when the darkness got so darn black.

With all the covid business this last few years, and like in my country,  with the government’s response that has been worse than the virus itself, maybe you’re just waiting and hoping for change. The government has been a wrecking ball through many lives and what can you do about it? It’s beyond your power to change it. And maybe you’ve been affected. Maybe you’ve lost your job. Maybe you got affected by the vaccine. Maybe you’ve been in lockdown after lockdown. I don’t know. But I do know that if God is your Lord, change is coming. Wait for the change that God promises and that God has the power to make.

The Bible says ye have heard of the patience of Job. Because Job was made to wait, he was made to wait while in physical, emotional and psychological pain. We don’t like to be made to wait. This generation in the year 2021 has such a short attention span. See this blog is probably already too long for you! We don’t want to wait for anything! But the Bible still says patience has her perfect work, and in that waiting, God is perfecting you, he’s teaching you what really matters, he’s teaching you that he is the best thing you will ever have. He’s teaching you that his is sufficient, even if you’ve got absolutely nothing else, having him is everything.

It would be nice to escape the trials and tribulations here wouldn’t it. Job was longing for that exact thing. But it is in the trials that your faith is tried and tested and purified. A faith that has not been tried is a faith you do not yet know the true value of. Maybe it is worthless! You’d want to know that this side of eternity, not the other side!

I’ve literally only touched a short phrase in this chapter, but if you read the context, you’ll see that change isn’t just in the here and now in this life, but also in the life to come. There is change that is coming in  the resurrection. If you die in faith, you are, just as all the saints before you are waiting for their change. What is that change? Their new glorified body. Ruling and reigning with Jesus Christ. All those who have gone before, they are waiting for their change.

The phrase “appointed time” in there did comfort me as well. Because I am not going to experience anything more than what God, my faithful Creator, has appointed me. He knows my limits, and he gives me the grace to handle what comes my way. And during it, I need to just trust him and believe that my change is coming.

If you read on, you will see the change did come. Elihu spoke, and he helped Job. And then God spoke, and that changed Job’s entire tribulation experience. And soon enough, God turned his captivity, he was set free from what was appointed him for a time. The Bible says there was none so fair as Job’s daughters… and guess what, God does give us beauty for ashes in the end. Job sat in the ashes but ended up with beautiful daughters. Coming though that other side of what God has appointed for us… you will see it was worth it.

So I just want to encourage you, if you are saved, that change is coming. Maybe you’ve got the raw deal at the moment. Maybe you feel like you have no voice. Maybe you have been unjustly treated. I don’t know. Maybe you’re just in a dark time in your life. In it, trust the Lord. You cannot explain or understand everything, and maybe noone can, Job had some friends that sure couldn’t… but you can trust God who knows every single thing. And maybe you think things will NEVER change. But they will.

The change is coming people. One day there will be a change when Jesus Christ returns as King of kings and Lord of lords. One day there will be the change where you receive your glorified body, which Job believed, and which we also. One day God will change what he has appointed unto you for right now, God will turn your captivity. Maybe in this whole mess of life, maybe in the darkness, God is just teaching you to trust him, maybe he’s sorting out some things in your life that are between you and him. I don’t know. But what I do know is that just as Job trusted his change would come, so will your change come. Wait for the change, your change is coming!

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 32 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
