It’s As He Said

Matthew 28:5 – And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

Matthew 28:6 – He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Matthew 28:7 – And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

Hello readers, new blog today. Pretty short to the point thought. It’s as he said. It’s easy to miss three words in these verses quoted above, and the reality of them in the whole Bible. We are going to focus on “as he said”. The angel said he is risen… as he said! Come and see the empty tomb. Come and see… well they’d come to see. And what they saw once again just confirmed what he had already said. There’s nothing like an empty tomb to confirm the truth of the word of God. You think this filled them with belief? One can only imagine the joy they had when they saw the stone rolled away. It looked and seemed and felt impossible, but it was as he said. What’s it going to take to convince you of the truth of God’s word? Is a risen Saviour not enough? It’s always been as he said. It is currently as he’s said. And it’s going to be as he said.

The women came to see the sepulchre of the Lord Jesus Christ. He’d been crucified and they were coming to check it all out. To see for themselves. They knew what he had said, even if they really didn’t get it. Let’s go and check to see if what he said was true. Could it be possible? I mean, he’d been spot on about everything else. But this was a big test now. As if all of Jesus’ miracles weren’t enough, but his ability to come back from the dead, well that was going to really verify his word as truth or not… right? All they had was his word and hope based on that promise. But a hope based on God’s word… it’s a sure thing. All he wanted them to do was believe all along.

Jesus had told them he’d rise from the dead. Mark 8:31 – And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. Of course, we know they never really got it. But we don’t need to understand in order to believe God’s word. And their understanding didn’t change the fact what he said was going to happen would happen just as he said.

They came to the sepulchre, and they found the angel of the Lord sitting on the stone that was rolled away. Jesus wasn’t there anymore, because he’d risen from the dead. Jesus conquered death. He’s alive forevermore. That’s what separates true Christianity from everything and everyone else. There’s only one who rose from the dead. There’s only one who has the power to forgive. There’s only one who can create life. There’s only one who can change someone’s heart.

We can fixate so much on Jesus dying for us we forget about the reality and importance of the resurrection. His resurrection is vital. We only have forgiveness and life and hope because he conquered death. He rose from the dead… as he said. He said he would… and he did. His word is proven. See, they saw the empty tomb, and for the umpteenth time, they realized his word is the truth. What matters in life is what he said. God’s word.

What’s it going to take for us to believe it is “as he said” past, present and future. Our sorrow, our doubt, our unbelief… it always seems to outweigh what he’s said. Circumstances outweigh what he’s said. What we see outweighs what he said. However, for everyone who has ever lived, there comes a point when you realize the truth of “as he said”. Will it be at judgement when you finally realize it is as he said? Or will you find out it’s as he said in salvation? What are you doing with what he said? Many people don’t believe in what he has said. But one day they will, it’s just a matter of whether it’ll be at salvation or at damnation.

See, God’s word says many things. There are many things God has said in his word that people do not believe. They reject and they refuse what he has said. They do not believe in the six day creation. They don’t believe in Noah’s flood. They don’t believe what the Bible teaches. They don’t believe the Bible. They don’t believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. But the only thing that matters is what he’s said. Because that is what goes. It is as he said.

We all need to get to that empty sepulchre. Because you think that those women weren’t filled with joy and faith when they saw the proof of what he said? Sure they were. When we get to the cross and the empty tomb, that’ll fill you with belief. Because he didn’t just die for you, he lives for you. He has all power, he conquered hell, death, Satan and this evil world. He was there at the beginning, and he will be there at the end. He is God. Why don’t we put more stock in his word?

Man tried preventing the truth of his word. They set guards at the sepulchre, as if that would stop God’s word from coming to pass. As if they could prevent his resurrection. And then the angel said go and tell others. Because when you know God’s word is the truth, you’ll want others to know it as the truth too. You’ll want to tell others about the risen Saviour. Because it’s as he said! What he said was true. And what he says is true. Past, present and future, God’s word is truth. It is as he said. Don’t wait until judgement to realize that it is as he said. People have been warned their whole life, but they choose to go into a Christless eternity. It’s surely better to realize the truth of God’s word while there is time, before it’s too late.

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 30 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
