Hello readers, just a short blog post to say thanks to all who read my blogs this year. I hope they were helpful in some way to you. The Bible is my only source for my blogs, hopefully I will have a lot more coming in 2019.
At this time of year we remember the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is God, he was the God of Genesis 1. But two thousand odd years ago, he was born as a human into his own creation as a human being with the purpose of saving mankind, because he loved us so much.
Matthew 1:23 – Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
It was so important he was born of a virgin, because it means he had no earthly father, because God was his Father. We come from Adam, he came from God. It is significant also because sin came through Adam, and was passed down by inheritance. Sin descended upon all of us, because we all trace back to Adam. We are born in sin, we sin by nature, we are sinners by inheritance, we are corrupted, fallen human beings, fallen, in need of salvation. But Jesus had no sin, he never sinned, he knew no sin… but we read in Isaiah 53 that God made him to be sin… for us. Jesus took our sins upon himself for us, he bore what we could not bear, what we could not repay, what we could not atone for… and exchanged his beauty for our ashes.
His birth was important, but he was born to do something, Jesus had a purpose, and that was the cross, because at the cross, through his sacrificial death, he would redeem mankind from the curse, the penalty, the power of sin, and have complete victory over the murderer, Satan, and all the effects and consequences of disobedience in the garden of Eden and then on. He would completely defeat Satan, and he did, he defeated sin, death, hell… Jesus has the keys of hell and of death. Jesus is the author of faith, and the author of eternal life, all power is given unto him in heaven and in earth. By raising from the dead, death has no hold on him, he is beyond death, so if you believe in him, and trust in him, and take ownership of who he is and what he has done, he will forgive you, save you, and give you life.
It can be said as a cliche… but it really is all about him. There is a verse in Colossians which says Jesus Christ is the firstborn of every creature. Everyone, everything… it originates from him. In John 1 the Bible says in him was life… The more you see Jesus Christ, the more your eyes will be open… he is the key, he is the way, he is the door, he is life itself, he is God… but very few people will ever have the simplicity of faith and mind to realize this. It doesn’t matter what people make Christmas out to be, or where it originates from, as a believer you can just remember the true Lord Jesus Christ, and the fact that he was and is … God with us. Fix your eyes on him like Peter did, and walk on water of life in the new year, and when you’re sinking, get your eyes back on him. He was God at the start, he is God that was born in a manger, he is God now… he changes not… the Lord God Almighty.
John 1:14 – And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 30 y/o Bible Blogger. I was new to blogging once! God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to bring it to others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and I am a Lord Jesus Christ follower. He is faithful even though I rarely am to him. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and stake my life on it. My destination is heaven. As they say, I’m just a passin’ through this world… although most of the time it’s more like hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports – particularly cricket… I currently work on an orchard and a side hobby business of mine is growing vegetables etc – they are good for you! I love writing. Always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment. You can read more about me and my blog here – kjvbibletruth.com/about :)
