When It’s Too Late

Jeremiah 8:20 – The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

Genesis 7:16 – And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.

There may be someone reading this who has put off salvation to a later date or even completely. There may be someone who has been riding on the grace, mercy and longsuffering of God their whole life. You may hate God, you may despise God, you may do everything you do in opposition to God – the very God whose existence you may deny, the very God who gives you the breath to curse him and the ability to do wickedly in spite of him. Every good thing comes from God, God rains on the just and the unjust. Things may be going well for you currently. You may be set for life, or so you think. You may not see a need to be saved. You may be like the men of Athens – we will hear thee again of this matter – Acts 17:32. You may be like Agrippa, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian – Acts 26:28. Maybe you conveniently excuse your refusal of salvation through justification of what you see in professing Christendom. The Bible says the way of truth shall be evil spoken of because of what fake Christians do in Christ’s name. This too, is not a valid excuse for not being saved. Everyone will give an account to God, noone will escape. God spared not the angels, God spared not Sodom, God spared not the old world which was destroyed in Noah’s flood and God will not spare this current world. Be sure of this one thing, God’s wrath and judgement is coming to this world. They will say peace and safety, they will be going about business as per usual, they will be marrying and giving in marriage, they will be eating, drinking, and partying. They will know not until the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night. Maybe you just think you can live your life how you want now and worry about where you’re heading later, or negotiate it when you get there.

If so, you have got it all wrong. The Bible is very clear that there comes a time when it is too late to be saved. 2 Corinthians 6:2 – For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. When God stops dealing with you, it’s over. There is a time for every unbeliever when it is too late. Only God knows the time, it is not for me or any man to say. I can only imagine the sheer terror of realizing I have refused God one too many times. In Daniel, Belshazzar saw the writing on the wall. Judgement had been declared. It was too late. That night Babylon fell and Belshazzar was slain. The Bible records his trembling, his fear, his knees smote together in terror. He found no place of repentance, he found no mercy, he found no grace. God was done with him forever. In Genesis, when the angels came to Sodom, judgement had already been declared. Their fate was sealed. The angels came to save Lot and destroy the city. All the inhabitants were dead men walking even before the angels arrived in Sodom. Symbolically, they desperately groped for the door in the darkness, but like the handle to the door eluded them, so had the door to eternal life been slammed shut for eternity. They were in the mist of darkness for ever.

We see the longsuffering of God in Genesis with the old, old story of Noah. Noah preached repentance, he warned of coming judgement, he warned the people of impending doom, the invitation to be saved and avoid judgement was extended for many, many years. But one day, the offer was withdrawn. There came a day when God shut him in. It was over, even before the raindrops began to fall, before the fountains of the deep were broken up, before there was any sign of the impending deluge. One can only imagine the icy hand of terror which took hold of their hearts as the rain fell and the water exploded up from underneath. They would no doubt have been hammering on the door of the ark, pleading to be let in. Fingernails began desperately clawing at the door. Noah, Noah, let us in! Noah, Noah, we believe you now! The door was shut forever. Eternal darkness, eternal punishment, eternal wrath awaited even as they were scurrying for higher land. The water covered the earth, the only people who survived were those in the ark. There would have been many that realized that Noah was right, but too late. Today, right now,  as I write this, they are still in hell, ruing their  consistent refusal of the free offer of salvation. They are wailing, they are weeping, they are in eternal darkness. They were disobedient to the gospel, they took God’s grace and longsuffering for granted, they pushed God too far. They died in their sins. Noah’s ark stands as a reminder that God is Holy above all else and that God has a right to judge his creation. And yes, it is his creation, God created it whether you want to believe it or not. Noah’s ark also shows that God is longsuffering, he is not willing that any should perish, you can be saved today, but if you refuse, there is no hope for you.

If we continually push back the Holy Spirit, there will come a time where he will depart from us forever. There is a time for every unbeliever when it is too late to be saved. It is important to understand we can only get saved when the Holy Spirit works in our heart, only when the Holy Spirit births a new creature inside us. John 1:13 – Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Ye must be born again. We cannot generate being saved ourselves. Man does not know God, man cannot comprehend God without the Holy Spirit. In our fallen, sinful state we are incapable of pulling ourselves out the mire. We need God to shine through the darkness into our hearts, we need the Holy Spirit to plough up the soil of our hearts to receive the precious, incorruptible seed. We need the Spirit of God to move upon the face of the waters before life can be brought forth.  We are dead in trespasses and sins. As the axehead lay heavy and helpless at the bottom of the murky Jordan river, so we too lie at the bottom of the river in need of a Saviour who can make the iron swim, who can do the impossible, who can do what no man can do, who can bring us forth from the dungeon of sin, slavery, darkness and death. We cannot save ourselves.

The Bible makes it very clear that there is a time coming when you won’t be able to be saved. Jesus said, night cometh when no man can work. These are the end times, the time of great tribulation, when God will pour out his wrath and judgement on an unbelieving world that will refuse him to the end. The Bible says God will give them up. They will curse God as they are being scorched with hailstones. They will try to hide from his wrath in vain, they will seek death, but death will flee from them. Their eternal destination is hell and then the lake of fire, which is the final, eternal stop for every unbeliever, and also Satan and his angels. Jesus said, as in the days of Noah. Jesus said, as in the days of Lot. Those days are here. The world is corrupt. The imagination is wicked continually. Man is doing that which is right in his own eyes. History repeats itself. Humanity is not moving to a new stage of enlightenment, we are not progressing past a history of ignorance, humanity is doing the same thing they were doing four thousand years ago before the flood came. This is the definition of insanity, repeating the same mistakes again and again and expecting different results. Only the Lord Jesus Christ can give you a right mind. They were wicked then, they are wicked now. The harvest is almost ended, the summer is almost finished, the invitation has nearly expired. The hand is outstretched, but will you refuse it? Will you find grace in the eyes of the Lord today? Will you by faith take the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord? Will you say, God be merciful to me a sinner? If you refuse today for the first or hundredth time, ask yourself, was this the last time God dealt with me?

Revelation 22:17 – And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Hi, my name is Joseph Zadow. I am a 33 y/o Bible Blogger from Adelaide, South Australia. God’s word is the best thing that we can be given, and once we have it and know it for ourselves it is both a privilege and responsibility to share it with others! We are blessed to be a blessing! I am a sinner (for sure!) saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. And it’s Jesus Christ’s faith far more than my own! Because he is faithful. I believe the Bible is the word of God, and by God’s grace I anchor my soul to it. My destination is heaven. As they say, this world is not my home, I’m just a passin’ through… although most of the time I feel more like I’m hangin’ by a thread in Jericho! I love playing sports, I currently work on an orchard and one of my main hobbies/interests is growing vegetables. I love writing. I’m always happy to talk, so feel free to leave a comment on my blog or through email! My blog is inspired by Isaiah 2, and Isaiah’s vision of the last days when all nations will flow unto the Lord’s house, in a future time where everyone will love to hear God’s word and walk in light of Lord. And it is my hope that my blog will “strengthen the brethren” and “feed my sheep” as Jesus told Peter. Whether you visit once or regularly, I hope my blog is of some benefit to you on your journey of life! It’s a long journey, but with Christ you will make it to the other side. • Hello Amanda, thanks for your comment. Well if someone wants to be saved it’s probably a sign it’s not too late! If you don’t want it to be late, well then don’t let it be too late! It’s not my place to say of others, it’s between each person and God. What I do know is this. 2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. It’s not God’s will for anyone to go to hell, the Bible says he takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Jesus said in John 6:37 – All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. If you come to Jesus, he won’t cast you out. If God is working in your heart drawing you, then it’s not too late, the thief that died on the cross got saved just before he died. It’s about what are we doing right now. 2 Corinthians 6:2 – (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) … well today is the day of salvation! Romans 10:13 – For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

  1. I believe that I may be living in the time when it may be too late for me. I had no proper introduction to God throughout my entire life. I knew not who He was till a year ago, when everything seemed to fall apart and aside for me. All it took for me to believe and put my faith in God was less than a day of reading the Bible and listening to sermons online. I cannot get enough now! You are so fortunate to have been introduced to His word and His teachings!
God bless you for being an inspiration to others.

    • Hello John, thanks very much for the comment. I doubt it is too late for you! Anyone who is saved can and will account that the longsuffering of God IS salvation (2 Peter 3). It’s all about his mercy and longsuffering and grace and compassion. Because he is longsuffering, very longsuffering. And you have heard his voice, the voice of the shepherd. All that come to Jesus, he will in no wise cast out. And he will never cast you out. The invitation is extended to all today. As the end of Revelation says, the time is at hand and behold he comes quickly. But the invitation is also there and whosoever will may come and take freely. I hope my blog is beneficial to your walk with God and pray for his blessing on your life. And it’s all because of the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise him and glory to him!

  2. Hi Joseph, God bless and keep you. I am a sister in Christ, also in SA. It is wonderful to find a fellow believer who is not afraid to declare the Truth in a time when there are so many with itching ears. There are times when we all need encouragement. This is such a time for me, although my Lord is my anchor in faith, it is lovely to meet a fellow believer in The Truth. Again, may He bless you richly as you share the Truth.

    • Hello Wendy, small world then! Pretty amazing actually! Thanks for the comment, hopefully this blog is encouraging to you in some way. Life is a battle, there’s no way around that fact, especially for a believer. We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. But Jesus will carry us through it all, and when we look back, we like Moses did, see his glory. All along he was not just there, but way ahead of all of it, in the storms of life. It sure helps resting in who he is and what he has done. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. It’s all about him. It’s always great to talk to fellow believers, they’re pretty rare these days… true ones that is. Truth is in short supply these days, both the hearing of it and the doing it. God lets it all happen to prove each of our hearts, to see who really wants truth, who will really hold to it, who will stand when all the rest fall down. Once you find truth, you can’t let it go. God’s word is the truth. Never back off it, no compromise!

      • Thank you again Joseph. I have been through many trials, some big some small, but the Lord is faithful to be with us in them all and lead us through. You are right, the testing of our faith is the thing that strengthens our faith. Yes it is hard to find fellow disciples in this day and age, but I have a daughter living with me who is also a true believer, and we get to share our ups and downs, But our greatest friend is the one who sticks closer than a brother, our Lord and Saviour. We will meet in the future and be able to give Him th glory due His Name.

    • Hello Adewanle, it’s not too late if you don’t want it to be. John 6:37 – All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. Jesus said that. If you come to Jesus he won’t cast you out, a person that has truly blasphemed the Holy Spirit or who has a reprobate mind will never come to Jesus. Because coming to Jesus takes two things, firstly, God drawing you through the Holy Spirit, and you responding to that in obedience, repentance and faith. Salvation takes the drawing power of God, without which one cannot be saved… and that drawing is a work of the Holy Spirit. So if God is drawing you to himself through the witness and power of the Holy Spirit unto himself… then it shows what you think has happened has not happened. The Holy Spirit hasn’t finished with you if he’s convicting you of sin, righteousness and judgement (John 16:8). The sin that cannot be forgiven is the sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, because salvation, being born again is a work of the Holy Spirit. Choosing to reject Jesus Christ is denying the Holy Spirit’s moving in your life, and the sin that cannot be forgiven, because as the Bible says in Acts 4:12 – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. If you reject Jesus Christ, well then that’s the sin that will condemn you to hell, because there’s nothing left for you, Jesus is the only way to forgiveness, heaven and eternal life… the only one with the willingness, power to forgive, redeem and save and give life (having conquered death, sin, hell, the devil himself). Your sins are bad, as are mine, but the worst sin, is when the light comes, to refuse it, to reject it. John 3:19 – And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. It’s fair to say we’ve all sinned and sinned badly against God (as it is written, there is none righteous, no not one Romans 3:10), and pushed him away with our life and actions, but if God is dealing with you it shows you’re not a reprobate and it’s not too late. The prodigal son wasted his life before he finally came to himself in a pig pen. Often it takes us getting ourself in a pig pen before we will finally come to ourselves. Jesus Christ paid a very big price on the cross for us, if you look in the Bible there was an exceptionally wicked king called Manasseh… who actually repented in 2 Chronicles 33:11-13. Have you taken yourself beyond God’s saving grace? I think not, because the Son of man is come to seek and to save lives (Luke 19:10), and there is a very high, estimable value that God places on any sinner that repents – Luke 15. You wouldn’t need to repent if you hadn’t done anything wrong, you wouldn’t need saving if there wasn’t something you needed to be saved from, you wouldn’t be lost if you needed to be found… Jesus came to call not the righteous, but sinners to repentance – Luke 5:32. 2 Corinthians 6:2 – (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) This is a time accepted to get saved and right with God, today is the day of salvation. Hopefully this answer is of some help to you

    • Hi Erin, thanks for your comment(s). You can be saved by calling upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to save you. It’s that simple. The devils tremble before the Lord, they are subject to him. The gospel of Jesus Christ, that is, the good news of his death, burial and resurrection for our forgiveness, for salvation from our sins, for eternal life… the gospel is the power of God… Jesus is the Creator, the Judge, the King, he is Lord. Just believe it, call on him in faith. He hears, and he keeps his promises, even when we haven’t and don’t. We stuff up, we have all sinned… but Jesus came to save sinners… that’s why he came. He came to save us from our sins. It’s so simple, there’s no need to complicate it… Jesus said unless we be converted, and become as little children, we shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. I will leave you with Matthew 11:28-30 – Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I hope you call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity and truth, and you will find rest for your soul.

      Joseph.

    • Hey Tim,

Moses said in the Old Testament… choose life. Life and death has been set before us all, God wants us to choose life. He’s given us his word, he’s so longsuffering and patient and gracious towards us even when we don’t deserve it at all because he wants us to choose life. 2 Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. God doesn’t desire anyone to perish. If the Holy Spirit is convicting you of your sin, or your heart is condemning you, you can turn to Jesus Christ. A king in the Bible called Manasseh did so evil against God, yet in captivity he repented toward God. God heard his prayer. It is Satan who will tell you you cant be saved or are too worthless. Satan doesn’t want anyone to get saved, neither does our sinful flesh want us to get saved. But if God is working in your life, he will give you the grace to call on his name, to believe on him and place your faith in Jesus Christ. That is the will of God for each of us, so know that hope is there for all of us, despite how much we have all sinned… just will we choose to believe on his Son for forgiveness of our sins and for eternal life? He is faithful and true even when we are not. He honors his promises. And he promises to save to the uttermost them that come to God by Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Hope this helps, because there is hope for any sinner, for me and for you. Jesus came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

      Joseph.

      • That’s awesome Tim, Psalm 119:105 – Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. You can trust his word, it’ll light the way for you. And also… Psalm 138:2 – I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. The last part of that Psalm… he has magnified his word above his name. That’s how sure it is. Satan attacked God’s word from the start, it is how man fell, because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God… he knew that if he could get us to doubt and question and change God’s word, we’d ultimately not believe it, and disobey it. And look where it got us… the world is full of evil. We can trust God’s word. In Hebrews 6:13,14 – For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. … you can read the rest of it, but God sware by himself, his word is that sure. It is the MORE sure word of 2 Peter, it’s better than dreams, visions, signs, miracles. It is certain. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away the Bible says. You know, Abraham is called the father of faith, he believed God’s promises to him. But he grew old, him and his wife, and they tried making it all happen rather than trusting God’s word and trusting God to perform his promise to them. Abraham had a child called Ishmael. That child was had after doubting God’s word, after Abraham’s self effort, according to Abraham’s thinking and not God’s word, after the flesh, man’s works… him trying to perform the promise of God. But Ishmael was not that child of promise, and did not inherit the promise. In fact… he was cast out. It was Isaac, a miracle child that he had after Ishmael that was the child God had promised, and to whom the promise of blessing belonged. This story shows we should trust God’s word, we tend to want to “do an Ishmael” and do and make things happen ourselves, that’s why we don’t just take God at his word and let him perform it and we just trust him. Take God at his word and your life will be an Isaac, not an Ishmael! Ishmael was rejected, while Isaac inherited the promise. Ishmael was the child of Abraham going it himself, doing it his way, doubting God’s word. Isaac was the child of just believing God. Ishmael is the person who doesn’t take God at his word, the person that doesn’t believe his word… Isaac is the person that hears and obeys God’s word. People trust in themselves, or their efforts, or their intellect, or their goodness or whatever it is… they go it themselves, they do it there way… and will be rejected by God. Like what produced Ishmael, our flesh does not want to trust God, our nature opposes God, is proud, disobedient. But when we get saved, God’s Spirit comes to live in us, making us spiritually alive, and we can trust God. It’s God’s grace upon our lives. Because only what is acceptable is believing what God says and living by it and according to it by faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. We can’t earn or add to or do anything… it’s what Jesus has done for us. That is a life changing truth. Believing the gospel produces a changed life, a life marked by the Holy Spirit indwelling us, and we are just branches that bare his fruit. I hope my reply has made sense, it’s great that you can trust God’s word, just take him at his word, he keeps his word, and has given it so that we can be saved. John 5:34 – … but these things I say, that ye might be saved.

HE also told me I am going to HELL and cannot be saved. This is not from satan. Now I cannot commit suicide because of this. It’s my opinion anyone who can commit suicide goes to Heaven. You cannot possibly do so if you are going to HELL. Trust me. my soul was taken on May 20, 1995.

    • Hello Ryan, thanks for your comment. I’m not sure I entirely understand what you are saying but I will reply as best I can and hope it is a blessing to you. We are all sinners, the Bible makes that clear. God tells us that we are sinners, he shows us our sin, not to beat us over the head or condemn us (for we are condemned already), but he tells us the truth about ourselves so that we CAN be saved. When you know truth, you can do something about it. If you know you are a sinner, then God has shown you so that you can be saved and be forgiven of your sins and have them washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for all our sins. The Bible is written, the gospel is given, so that anyone can be saved. That includes you. John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. If you are sinner, well that makes you a great candidate to be saved 🙂 After all Jesus came to save us from our sins. If you weren’t a sinner, if you weren’t lost… then you wouldn’t need saving! The Bible says that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. The devil wants you to commit suicide, the devil wants to harm you and ruin you, for you not to have peace, he wants to own you. Satan does not and cannot own someone that believes in the Lord Jesus Christ. He can’t! Jesus is God, he is greater than the devil, if you call upon Jesus Christ, he will save your soul and set you free. If you read Luke 8:26-39 … you will see that the Lord Jesus Christ has authority over the devil. The Lord Jesus Christ has authority over the ownership of your soul. In that chapter of Luke, there was a man who lived in the country of the Gadarenes who was possessed by Legion, that is, hundreds upon hundreds of devils who owned him and were absolutely ruining his life… but when Jesus came to the man, Jesus said go… and they went out of that man. Satan torments us just as he tormented this man and OWNED this man, but God wants to give us forgiveness and eternal life. He gives them freely. Jesus came to save that man possessed with the devils, and they came out of him at hearing the word of God. If you trust in Jesus Christ to save you from your sins, you will be saved. Don’t listen to the lies of the devil, listen to the truth of God’s word. The devil is the father of lies… but Jesus is the way, the truth, the life 🙂 It’s not too late if you don’t want it to be, if you have a heart that calls out to the Lord Jesus Christ in truth.

I invited Satan to come and get me – I cursed God – I asked for a cursed of the devil to be put on me – I had a rebellious spirit my whole life – I later believed I was the Christ – I rejected belief in the true Christ – I am the man of perdition, 2 Thessalonians 2 – Hebrews 10:26-31 – how can it be possible that God has permitted such a reprobate as me?

    • Hello Andrew, the Bible says in Acts 16:31 – “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. ” If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ today, you will be saved. Jesus Christ can save you, he is willing to save you, and he has power to save you. And not just forgive you of your sins, but to deliver you from the power of Satan and sin, your flesh and this world in your life. He won’t just deal with your sin, he will change your life, because getting saved is a new birth and a new life. Matthew 28:18 – “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Whatever has happened in your life, whatever you’ve said and done, Jesus has all the power. That’s how it’s possible. Luke 1:37 – “For with God nothing shall be impossible. ” May God bless you with the light of truth and life today.

      • Hello Andrew, did just then. God has not given up on you, you can choose to just simply believe on him. There’s no failure on God’s behalf, he doesn’t lack ability to reach out and save. Jesus died for the sins of the world, that includes yours. His Son’s life and death was that good, he can save us from the worst gutter in life. He has that much power but you think he can’t redeem you? Isaiah 59:1 – “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:”

Back in Genesis 3, Adam and Eve did the unthinkable, and made a decision that brought death, pain, suffering, curse and the power of Satan. Look what happened in their family. They had a son that was rebellious towards God and murdered his brother. That’s pretty pear shaped from the start where everything had started so very good. Yeah, we mess up, all of us do. We are sinners.

But God had not given up on them, and they had another son, who had another son through whom the blessing of God came. In Genesis 4:26 – “And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.” God can raise you out of that deathbed of sin and unbelief. And in amongst our life of sin and rebellion and wickedness, God has still shown his grace, mercy and longsuffering toward us. If they’d messed up, and the first ever family was a mess and God was able to still bring good out of it… he can for you today.

Call upon the name of the Lord. Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Now, either God is true or he isn’t. You’ll have to make up your mind for yourself.

  7. Thank you so much for this. I feel like I am too late to be working on my relationship with God and feel like God would feel like I am working on my relationship with him because the end of the world is nearing because I have been sinning by lying and deceiving others. The truth is that I want to repent for my sins, change my ways, I have always told myself that I am changing my ways but sooner or later I would go back to sinning. Now I want to live a righteous life and stop doing what I was doing completely. Please assist me and also do I need to tell people that I have lied to for acceptance or do I confide in God and he will deal with all of this?

    • Hello Thato, thanks for the comment. It’s a good idea to get right with people who you need to get right with. Part of repentance of sin is getting right with people who you have sinned against. If you have private sins, then they can be dealt with privately. Public sins need to be dealt with publicly. I can’t tell you what to do, God will lead you in what to do. Obey him in how you clear yourself, it will be worth it.

Salvation is a new birth, it’s being born again, it’s not “doing better”. You can’t do better, none of us can, the problem we have is our sinful nature, and we can’t overhaul that no matter how hard we try, no matter how dedicated, no matter how sincere, no matter how disciplined.

The Bible says now is accepted time and today is the day of salvation. Today, while it is called today, is the time to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. He is willing to save you and all who call upon him in faith and truth. Night is coming when no man can work, it’ll be too late for you and for us all one day when we continually put off what we could’ve done today while we had the light to do it.

I hope this helps. There is no formula I can give you other than get in the Bible for yourself, if you are not genuine you will be found out most assuredly. Ask God to give you a new heart, ask him to save you, ask him for forgiveness and salvation that he promises to all who call on him. He’s not a liar, he keeps his word, he is faithful and true. Don’t harden your heart, place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ and he will turn your life around.

  8. I used to walk very close to the Lord without any hint of impurity but then I masturbated and a few months later I got scared that the Holy Spirit left me and later that day Jesus called me antichrist. I took this the wrong way and decided to destroy myself, which I did physically so that I lost my natural capacity to control my body and mind and eventually this led to me getting a stroke that left me weak on one half of my body permanently. All these were the real effects of psychiatric meds which I took out of a scared compulsion to get right with God. But in the years following my act of masturbation and my experience with psych meds I got less able to control my body, physically unable to recover from stress because of the damage from the meds, and eventually I became addicted to masturbation. The loss of control of my body made me unable to exercise and sleep and get up early and be healthy. It was a permanent side effect of the psych meds which I took in a radical effort to destroy myself for God. Years later I would commit myself again and again to the psych hospital feeling a desperate need to change my life for God. But I had weird experiences that pushed me into masturbation repeatedly. I did come out of masturbation a few times but it seemed like God was allowing it or encouraging it at times which led me to not feel wrong about it. Finally my life got so bad that I got put into psychiatric treatment for three years because I let a woman know I was masturbating thinking about her. In treatment Jesus would regularly come to me and say, “It’s too late.” Now that I am out and am finally stabilizing and avoiding masturbation I am facing the fact that my reputation is destroyed, my body is damaged by the psychiatric meds in ways that keep me from working, and Jesus speaks to me words that do not comfort me, like telling me today, “That’s what it is.” I am praying extremely hard about how to move forward with my life but because I have a publicly available record of my shame I am almost certain to be scorned by people who look up my name, including employers, women I would try to have a relationship with, and anyone doing a background check including church pastors. An angel warned me not to get a job at this time, and I am still looking for one, and a recruiter who interviewed me told me no one in my field will want me. I cannot work in my field and my body is not recovered enough for me to work in manual labor. I am 35 and have never had a girlfriend and am facing the realization that I may never be good enough to get married. I know I need to move forward with my natural life but I am not getting any reassurances from the Lord when I pray. Instead He says almost every time, “I’m sorry son.” and occasionally I still hear Him tell me, “It’s too late.” The whole time I was masturbating I was not aware of it being a sin. I knew I was wrong but I wasn’t sure about what. So I read your words talking about how it’s too late for some people to repent and it is easy to believe this applies to me. Hebrews 6:6 says that those who have fallen away cannot be brought back to repentance. I have been seeking the Lord fervently this entire time, even while I was masturbating, and even though I feel repented now I still have no direction from Him. And as worried as I am about my inability to accomplish anything godly for the rest of my natural life, I am also worried about what this means for my eternal future.

    • Hello Pablo, thank you for your comment. When I first wrote this blog, it was quite a few years ago and it is true, it was too late for Hophni and Phineas. But you know what, those men never sought God, those men never repented of what they were doing, there is no record that these two had any fear of God. For people that it’s too late, they’re not writing comments like you have here. Clearly you have lived your life thus far and made a bit of a mess of it. We all have that in common. If there is anything we are good at, it’s living in sin and rebellion and making a mess of our lives. That prodigal son went away to a far country and made a mess of his life too. God is in the mess business though. The Bible says that Jesus came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Sounds like you qualify for the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ?

You may see it as hopeless, but God may have taken you all the way here to take you to the end of yourself. You cannot do it, and you know that. You can’t do it, that’s the place God takes all his children to. The Christian life is lived on the grace of God, that is, Jesus Christ gives us the ability and power to love and obey him. None of us will make it if he is not faithful to us and his promises every second of every day and for eternity.

There is a balance to all scriptural truth in the Bible. And the balance to this blog is that yes, there comes a time when it is too late, but that balances with the fact that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. Do you believe that? You need to come to a point in your life when you believe the word of God, as in, in your heart. God is not willing that you perish. Do you realize how many prophets God sent his nation so that they wouldn’t be destroyed? When it was too late, it wasn’t for lack of chances and opportunities and God pleading every which way for his nation to repent. God doesn’t want hell for you. So this voice of the Lord you keep hearing, I can categorically say it is not the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s not the way he works, that voice does not harmonize with what the Bible says. Jesus Christ speaks through his word, the Holy Bible, the scripture of truth. The voice you need to listen to is the voice of scripture, the Holy Spirit always speaks in accordance with scripture.

I am in the process of writing a blog about “when God shows you a tree”. Go to Exodus 15:22-27 if you want to read for yourself. God points each one of us to a tree. Why did he point Moses to a tree? Because there were some bitter waters that Moses and the children of Israel had come to. They were thirsty, they wanted to drink water, but those waters were bitter. From what you’ve written, it sounds like you’re at some bitter waters in your life. Sounds to me like it’s a pretty bitter pill to swallow. God can make those waters sweet. But how does he do so? He shows you a tree, a tree, which when put into the bitter waters of your life, can make those waters sweet. That was an impossible situation fro Moses, but as the Bible says, with God nothing shall be impossible.

So it sounds to me like you’ve come to bitter waters in life. Jesus came to a well one day in John 4 and spoke to a woman who’d been through five husbands, she was seeking something in life, something she couldn’t find in all those different husbands. It seems like you’ve been seeking a solution but you haven’t truly found it yet. Look what Jesus said in John 4:14 “whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” That’s not a cliche. That tree God showed Moses was pointing to the Lord Jesus Christ, the entire Bible is the testimony of Jesus Christ remember.

When God speaks to you, he will always show you a tree. Do you want to see the tree? Do you want to see the tree make a difference to those impossibly bitter waters of life? Moses cast that tree in the waters, and made those waters sweet. Put the cross of Jesus Christ in those bitter waters. You might think you’re irretrievable, but with Jesus Christ you are not. He died on the cross for your sins, so you could be saved. That was no small thing. God moved heaven and earth to save you, you really think he wants to wipe you off? The voice of God is the voice that shows you the tree, the Holy Spirit always points us to the Lord Jesus Christ, and trusting in his death, burial and resurrection for each of us personally. Don’t just know about it, believe it. Get in your Bible, and believe God’s promises and walk in faith of them. He always keeps his word, his word is good, and he will save you, he will set you free, he will make those bitter waters sweet. Just believe the word of God, and obey him in your life today, you can’t change anything else, but you can use your time and ability right now to glorify Jesus Christ, and that will, and he will change your life.

  9. I believe it’s too late for me. I was saved back in 2007 a young man. I was filled with the Holy Spirit( Though I truly didn’t understand what that meant) and thought I was bullet proof. I had no idea of what was to really come. Soon about a year into my walk I sinned against God through lust. I felt like I couldn’t go back to him and couldn’t serve him no more. Not long after that I went back to being a slave to sin. A abusive husband I’ve always had a problem with not being enough for my partner and thought she was always looking at other men I guess jealousy was rampant in my heart, drugs and alcohol, pornography, fornicating, adultery, I still had unforgiveness in my heart with a lot of people and chose not to deal with it and chose to block everything out cos the guilt, shame and condemnation was heavy. My real drug of choice was lust. Everything else like alcohol and drugs didn’t work but lust had greater temporary relief from my condemnation or even conviction. I tried going back to God many times but my heart wasn’t right and I’d give into my thought’s way too easy. I fell into deep depression and anxiety over the years to follow my pattern of living hardly changed in my efforts to stop pornography and I wanted to be faithful but desire to stop chasing other women I wanted them. My insecurities were deep in me and my mind was sick. I lost the desire to work and even to live. Some of my friends were Muslims and were trying to teach me their doctrine but I never believed they had the Truth cos they never believed in Jesus the way I did but still till this day because I thought they had some form of truth its like I trampled on Jesus. Its like without confessing with my mouth I still denied Jesus as salvation for believing such because I thought their God was our God Elohim Adonai YHWH Jesus Christ but it’s not and the worst thing is I believed it was our God in my heart I didn’t even know how deceived I was but I still never denied Jesus as the Son of God and our Salvation. I remembered a illustration of Daniel in the Good news Bible and it showed him praying on a mat facing the sun like the muslims and I thought it to be the same God as ours.. The muslim guys were just my friends. It was easy for me to see a holistic view of God because I was being deceived by my own understanding. I would even greet them in their own arabic way saying God is great but I thought I was praising our God. I stopped all of this now as I know now we don’t have the same God. Our God is sovereign I even started to believe in the Laws of Attraction, it wasn’t until a year ago God showed me it was demonic. That’s how deceived I was and I was lead there by other Christians. So I stopped believing in that. The mental abuse was so thick on my partner she tried to commit suicide by over dosing on paracetamol. That was 2 years ago. God stopped all of that from happening he has other plans for her. Again 2 years ago I became ill with chronic bronchitis and sever asthma. Never had asthma in my life. I was that blinded by my own insecurities and ego that I wasn’t sensitive to anyone but myself, I was selfish. Then I started to make changes in myself. I started to fight my mind and search myself not to repeat this behavior. Still the one thing that grabbed me was pornography. 3 months ago I believe God said enough is enough and the spirit of Death came upon me I felt like I was going to drop dead. I went for a walk and repented with all my strength and God took it off me and from that day to now I am free from pornography and my mind is way different my mind can actually function without a lustful thought and I don’t have the desire to masturbate or sleep with other woman. I don’t see lustful thoughts and if it does It hasn’t got a stronghold on me. I am truly free from Porn. I can’t even look at lustful things without being cringed by it. Though earlier in my repentance I was visited by demons in my dreams trying to have sex with me. I had sex with 1 in my dreams and repented again and in one dream I was watching something on a tv it wasnt until I noticed what it was, it was porn I woke up straight away and called out to God and went back to sleep. Since then I dont have sexual dreams anymore. I am more subserviently to others and more humble. I have the strength to choose not to argue as if my insecurities are gone with my partner now our relationship has improved much greater than ever but still she holds me accountable for all my wrongs which is understandable and I accept what she says. she is serving God the best she can and God free’d her from oppression. The revelation of his mercy and grace he revealed to me was powerful I couldn’t stop crying. He showed me I grieved his spirit and I cried like never before and he revealed his mercy and grace and said I choose who I give mercy to and he forgave me cos he knew I truly didn’t know what I was doing or knew his word. I truly didnt know God or his ways the way I know him now and I know as new christians you can turn back to him and be forgiven cos it’s from the devil where condemnation comes. God wants to teach us through his word by the conviction of his spirit. I never knew that until now. I’m even more sensitive to animals and all things I even felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit like he warns me in advance if I am doing something wrong before I even do it. I can’t watch certain videos on Youtube or read certain stuff now. I haven’t been this sensitive to the righteousness of God in my whole life, It’s easy to be obedient to his word now cos I love him and I love Jesus. I went through deliverance 2 weeks ago at Church (Pentecostal Church) because the Devil was vicious in his attacks of condemnation and God lifted condemnation and made me more free than I ever have been it was like being born again. But as the elder anointed my head she said, there is a block. Something is blocking you. Now I am free from all of this there is one thing that plague’s my mind and heart. I keep hearing blaspheming in my mind wanting to come out of my mouth. The Devil telling me I accepted the Muslim God as my God and that is the unforgiveable sin. Sometimes when I pray to our heavenly father I keep hearing the Muslims Gods name pop into my head and want to come out. I ask Jesus to deliver me, I ask God to deliver but I don’t know why it still persists. I even hear it curse Jesus name. I feel like God is saying i replaced Jesus with the Muslim God and that’s why I havent been free from it and allows the devil to mock me. Though I don’t feel condemned for it, it just bothers me so much like i want to spew it out but it wont come out. I’ll never stop believing in Jesus as the Son of the most high God and as our Salvation and only way to God even now as I type my eyes well up with remorse in my heart. But I feel that God has blocked me and free’d me to live the rest of my days with some peace before I be eternally damned. I had a dream last week I tried to cross a flooded river and I got swallowed up and spat back out. God is not letting me cross. I think I sinned way too much To our God in heaven the sovereign God and our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy spirit be all the Glory forever. Thank you for listening. My hope is that everyone who reads this does not harden their hearts this bad and humbles themselves and goes to our Father and our Lord Jesus early because the longer you leave it, the harder it becomes to turn back that’s the truth. Don’t worry God will forgive you, you have Jesus. He will forgive you and free you. He is mighty to save.

    • Hello Austin, thanks for the time it took you to write up this comment. The Bible speaks of “the simplicity that is in Christ” in 2 Corinthians 11. Get back to that simplicity. Paul had some things in his rearview mirror when he got saved didn’t he, not the least the imprisonment and murder of Christians before the light came on. You have to put some things behind and press forward as he did. None of us would go anywhere if we didn’t just decide to take the first step forward out of our prison of sin and despair. The angel of the Lord came to Peter and whacks him and says Peter, get up, get going. And you know what, Peter just walks out. Believe it or not, you can walk out and walk forward with Christ. Yes, you’ve sinned, acknowledge the truth, confess your sin and make it right where you need to make it right.

A wonderful verse in Hosea 13:9 – “O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.” That verse gives hope for all of us who have messed our lives up. And the Christian life cannot be lived in the energy of the flesh. It must be lived in the power of the Spirit of God. God is faithful to supply his grace and his truth and his spirit for our impossible journey of life. That spiritual man must grow and Ishmael must be put out in your life. Put him out. Put the flesh out.

There is a way out for you, if there’s anything the Bible teaches, it’s the reality of 2 Peter 3:9, God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. If there is anything the Bible teaches, it is the longsuffering of God, which the Bible says in 2 Peter “is” salvation. None of us would be saved without the longsuffering of God. There is a simplicity to believing Christ and obeying him.

Pick yourself up and prove your repentance. Repentance toward God has fruit. And it produces this… 2 Corinthians 7:11 – “For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.” Live for God how you can, where you can, and where you are right now. Believe him and take that step forward.

Nehemiah saw no walls when he started laying the first stones in rebuilding Jerusalem, and at the end the walls were up. If he had believed the lies of the enemy, he wouldn’t have started and if he did, he would’ve given up. It seemed so inadequate laying that first stone. But stone by stone that wall went up. Start putting stone upon stone in your life. Jesus is the healer of the breach. And he steps into that breach, he stands in the gap, and he will forgive, cleanse, wash, save and set your feet on a rock, on THE rock. The grace of God is sufficient for you and your journey.

      • I too have a history of jacking off that whenever I admit to it it gets me in a lot of trouble, even legal trouble. I usually don’t feel guilty about it but I have been so publicly shamed for it that I can’t have a feeling of freedom in church. Too many Christians condemn it as sin like I need to repent of it. At this point I have prayed for forgiveness for it so much and tried to stop so much that it is pretty ingrained in my behavior. When I was young I stopped it for several years but now that I am middle aged I don’t see the point in giving it up anymore. If it really mattered to God then He would convict me of it and deliver me from it. I just can’t lay enough stones to rebuild that wall because there is no hope in my life for good things since I have been so severely punished by others for “lust”. I can’t believe in any good from the Lord anymore. I have been too punished to recover.

      • Jesus said in Matthew 26:41 – “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” The only way to live the Christian life is through the power of the Spirit of God. Your flesh cannot do it. Looks like you’ve discovered that. Your flesh is weak when it comes to obeying God.

The key is growing spiritually so you are strong in spirit. Just as a baby who is born needs milk and grows up on meat, the spiritual man needs that too. You need to feed him. You feed him with God’s word, the Bible. Pray, fast, obey God’s word. If you are not strong in spirit your flesh will prevail. The warfare is real, just as real as Esau and Jacob fighting in the womb. If God is in you, surely God in you would prevail?

We receive the Spirit of God by faith, and we also walk in the Spirit by faith. It’s all by faith. The circuit breaker you need is just believing God’s word and getting on with it in your life. Go and tell the gospel to someone? Pass out a tract, tell someone how to be saved, start moving forward in your life. Get right with people who you’ve wronged. Own your sin and take up your bed as it were and walk. Jesus wants you moving forward not sitting around in a bed for 38 years John 5 style because you’ve got some infirmity that’s laid you up your whole life.

I chose to embrace sin fully again. Even though I knew I needed to be saved I told myself that I repent at some point. I would get scared, pray to God, and go back to my sin, repeatedly .I came across the point of no return and I got scared. I am always emailing people and seeking counsel, but no matter what they say, I still feel as if I’m unforgivable. I’m numb, I don’t desire God or holiness and sometimes I feel number and hopeless others I don’t. The truth id I want my sin and my own way ,but I guess God talk makes me feel better. I read my Bible and feel nothing. I pray and feel like I’m praying to empty space. Then I go back to doing my own thing. I know the only think to do is to seek God. I’ve emailed hundreds of people again.
I can’t decide if God has cut me off ,but idk.

    • Hello Kay, how about just believe the Bible? Salvation is not based on feelings, but on faith. And it is the faithfulness of Christ that truly matters “for he is faithful that promised”… I don’t know what’s going on in your life, sounds like you just need to break the cycle, a cycle of unbelief and sin we are all prone to and comfortable in. So how about today get what’s right right, starting with being honest with God and others, and then move forwards in believing and obey God’s word!

I feel as though I have let God down terribly. I pray that He will allow me a little more time to prove my repentance this time. I probably don’t deserve it, and I understand why. I just desperately pray that I’m allowed one more chance to prove my belief and obedience in His son Jesus. I have also battle unbelief… Today, my hope is in the Savior Jesus Christ. I declare him my Lord and SAVIOR. I will OBEY and Live according to his word from this minute forth. Please forgive me LORD. I have purposely worshipped other gods… I have departed from the truth. I need you more than air… I need you to fill my being with your Holy Spirit. I will serve you all my days. I desire you and only you. Help me to bare your fruit from this day forth. I can not do this on my own. Thank you for giving me life this day. Please grant me more days to prove my devotion.

But I must admit that there were parts of the bible that I didn’t believe in. I figured as long as I had a relationship with god that wasn’t enough. I just went through a major crisis in my life and I decided to accept jesus christ as my lord and savior and consider myself christian. I’ve been reading the Bible in a very intimate and conscious way. And have completely changed the way I view Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. But am I too late did I sin for too long?

    • Hello Tony, thanks for the message. It’s not for me to say whether it is too late for anyone. I’m not God.

What we do know from the Bible is that “the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation”. And we also know that God is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”.

God is FOR salvation, he’s literally moved heaven and earth to save us from our sins. Jesus was the best God could give, and he gave him freely for us all.

We’ve all sinned for too long in our lives. If God has moved in your heart and you’ve trusted in Jesus Christ to save you from your sins… then that is not too late? The work of God is to believe on him whom he hath sent… which you have done. So rather than being too late, it is more a case of being “in the nick of time” as all our salvation stories are.

May God bless you and the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth in accordance with the holy scriptures.

  18. What if you’re oppressed or possesed by demons, you can hear them audibly & 1 voice tells you to “fast & pray until the demons are gone” & “if you can’t hear my voice it will be too late”? I’ve been hearing demonic voices since 2019, they don’t care about anything Christian at all. They mocked an Anglican healing I went to, etc. I do believe in Jesus as the Son of God who came to save us & I have much gratitude, but the demons have given me horrible internal dialog. No one seems to know the answer exactly, except to say others fast & pray for the oppressed. The demons say “you have no idea” or “God has not given them authority”. Can a person be a Christian & be under constant demonic attack?
Also, I’ve read some stuff written by Catholics, since they seem more open to this, & they claim anything Holy makes them feel at peace & negative entities make them feel bad, but in the Bible God & Jesus scared people quite severely.
Endless questions that leave me scared for my sanity & eternal life.

    • Hey Genevieve, thanks for the comment.

Jesus Christ is “far above all”, and definitely far above all and everything in the spirit realm as the Bible says in 1 Peter 3:22 “Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. “.

I daresay the psych meds aren’t helping your situation but I don’t know, I am not God , I can only point you to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the pages of scripture and his cross where his Holy Spirit will meet you. So all I can do is say I’ll be praying for you and that you will sincerely call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and commit your soul and spirit and life to his safe keeping.

Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

    • Hi Genevieve. I would recommend getting off the medication right away. That stuff does not help but only makes things worse. The Bible talks about pharmakeia. Mind altering drugs do no good influence for the spirit. Even if it does help, it is not from God. I was on meds for years then I got off of them completely when God healed me of my depression, when He set me free from my suicidal thoughts. Although I did relapse into depression, God has picked me up over and over without me being on meds. Would you like me to share with you my testimony?it is on youtube. God bless you. I am praying for your healing. Meditate on scripture. confess and forsake all known sins. read proverbs 28:13 https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Proverbs-28-13/#:~:text=PROVERBS%2028%3A13%20KJV%20%22He%20that%20covereth%20his%20sins,whoso%20confesseth%20and%20forsaketh%20them%20shall%20have%20mercy.%22
claim all the promises of God. focus on Christ, memorize scripture. at one point i heard a hateful voice inside of my head, which i believe was a demon. this was back in july or june when i was eating too much and then i heard a hateful voice speaking to me about philippians 3:19. i know what it is like to go thru demonic torment. my youtube testimony mentions that. recite the word. get as much of it as you can.

  20. Do to sexual immorality adultry etc I believe I was handed over to a reprobate mind. I slept around got STds as a result and sure I gave it to others. This went on nearly 20 years. Stds can kill. I have to be damned without hope of salvation. That was wicked. I beg Jesus for forgiveness. I lost my marriage of 32 years. I’m nearly losing everything. I FEEL God’s wrath. Can I be forgiven or am Damned to hell. All I feel is condemnation. I want God and to turn to him and be saved. I desire to repent but only God can allow it. Am I lost without hope? What I did was vile. I pray I can be forgiven.

    • Hello pennyharpers, thanks for your comment. Jesus Christ said this in Matthew 12:31 “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.”

So yes, you can be forgiven, if God is drawing you to his Son Jesus Christ, ask him to forgive you and save you… and he will! Every single person going to heaven is a sinner saved by the grace of God, and that grace is what saves us and changes our lives. He will change your life if you turn to him.

Ezekiel 33:11 “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”
